They ain’t gonna get the votes to pass an amendment modifying it, and even if they could, I don’t think Americans would comply. If Democrats weren’t morons, they might realize this is a bridge too far and focus on other parts of the agenda, but thankfully, it appears they are still morons.

The only change I could be persuaded to endorse would be to remove the part that says “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state”.
The rest needs to stay... In my opinion, it doesn’t really matter WHY the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
This is good news. D Doyle brought up 2A. Hillary will have to answer as to whether she is in favor of sponsoring a repeal of 2A and also of the House D strategy of civil disobedience on the House floor against the US Constitution.
I wonder if 2A is becoming the 2016 version of the Compromise of 1850...

I’m ok with this. If they want to revise the 2nd Amendment, fine. Propose a new version and send it to the states for ratification. Good luck on getting 2/3 of the states to ratify. Meanwhile, the existing version is in effect.
The problem with the democrats is they know they cannot revise the 2nd Amendment through the process described in the Constitution so they want to find a new version emanating from some prenumbra.
Which Americans don’t agree? Are you talking about all of the foreign-born immgrants who just got here who want us disarmed so they can assault and kill us? That would be a VERY small percentage of Americans.

Although not obvious, this is a GOOD SIGN. Consider:
1) It means that Democrats AGREE with us that the Second Amendment (and by default, the US Constitution) is more than just toilet paper to them - that is NEW!
2) The Constitution was DESIGNED TO BE CHANGED, following the set of rules that are laid out - which is 2/3’s House and Senate, plus 38 states (I think). If the gun control freaks can get those numbers, then the country deserves what it gets. But they will NEVER get those numbers...hence the next point.
3) By admitting that the CONSTITUTION precludes far-reaching gun control, the Dems cannot then run to the Courts and have the courts simply ignore the Constitution. Well, of course they can, and they will - but now we have them ON THE RECORD admitting that the Constitution limits what they (and the courts) can legally do.
Of course their admission here likely won’t change anything, but, for once, the Democrats are actually PLAYING BY THE RULES - which means, in this case, if you want far-reaching gun control, you need to change the Constitution - not ignore it.
Then why won’t Mike Doyle or any other rat propose a constitutional amendment to change the 2A? Rhetorical question, I know the answer.
