Rob Ford, professor of political science at Manchester University, said Farage had tapped into deep disenchantment with politics among people, particularly those without a university education, who felt left behind by Britain's globalized economy.

"In terms of the impact he's going to have on Britain and its place in the world, he's more significant than most prime ministers have been," Ford told Reuters.

Farage, who as a boy went to a prestigious private school and later worked as a commodities trader, has often been called hypocritical for presenting himself as a man of the people...............He reminds me of Trump!

"There was something about his manner and way of thinking and way of discussing the issues that completely resonated with non-graduates at a time when they feel that their entire lives are being run by the know-it-alls, the elites, " said Ford. "He waved the flag, he went down to the pub, he didn't like immigration, he was their man. Simple as that," he said, adding non-graduates, a majority of the population, were fed up with being told what to do by people "who think they're cleverer"...........Similar to Trump...

This guy was on the scene long before Trump decided to become a Republican.

Trump is similar to him.

Just because they voted to leave the EU doesn’t mean they’ll be allowed to do so. The Global Money Changers will seek to punish them severely for daring to seek restoration of sovereignty... and return them to captivity!

Isn’t it interesting how an “anti-immigration” man gets added adjectives like “abrasive” while there is no such denigration of the very peoples he wants to stop who actually KILL people?

People dismissed Nigel Farage as a loon, as a crank, as a racist.

His anti-EU campaign won big last night, humbled the establishment and brought down a sitting Prime Minister.

I wrote that it was his night. It went a heck of a lot better than any one envisioned.

Once the blowout began in bellwether Sunderland, the bells tolled for Brexit.

As JimRob has pointed out, repeatedly....Trump’s conservative ideals have been proposed in his books, for decades.

Farage and Trump have both been on the same page, on several issues, for years.

Loving your country and wanting what’s best for your countrymen, your children and yourself is the bottom line. Trump has always been a nationalist and a patriot. And unlike some, who’ve been a Republican longer, Trump doesn’t welcome foreign invaders into the country with soccer balls and teddy bears.

The EU has already told Britain not to let the door hit their posteriors on the way out.

They are not conservatives.

They are populists.

Populists don’t like globalism, neo-liberalism, open borders and the rotgut sold by the establishment.

Its hard to tells where the Left and Right differ these days.

All the same thing more or less - which boils down to unfiltered contempt for the common man.

His name can now be linked to Churchill’s in defending Britain’s freedom!

Brexit! It’s so good to have positive news for a change. And the SCOTUS slap-down of Obama yesterday made me happy, too.

Yep - even when he self identified with Democrats and was promoting abortion and contributing to the DNC. True patriot stuff.

LOL! Come back to me when you can post your own thoughts and not Jim’s.

LOL!

Completely agree. Very astute.

Which is why Farage stands alone. He's been doing this for much longer than June 2015.

So Trump didn’t publish the original edition of Time to Get Tough until June 2015? And those videos that have him making the same patriotic America First case from decades ago...they’ve been what? Doctored to look old when in fact they were made a year ago?

Even Reagan was a Democrat until he was in his 50s.
