Clinton Gains in Polls, but Voters Favor Trump to Grow Economy (Selective Polling Alert)
Morning Consult ^ | 6/27/2016 | Fawn Johnson

Posted on 06/27/2016 10:00:25 AM PDT by usafa92

Hillary Clinton jumped 5 percentage points in a head-to-head matchup with Donald Trump over the weekend, even though voters think Trump would do more to grow the economy if he is elected president, according to a new Morning Consult poll.

Well over two-fifths of registered voters (44 percent) said they would choose the presumptive Democratic nominee if the presidential election were held now, while 39 percent said they would choose Trump. Almost one-fifth of respondents (18 percent) don’t know or have no opinion.

It’s a 3-point gain for Clinton, who had lost ground in our previous poll following the mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando.

When voters were also given a third choice, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, Clinton was the first choice for 39 percent of respondents, compared with 36 percent for Trump. Johnson pulled in 11 percent of support, a slight uptick from previous weeks, and 13 percent of voters were undecided.

Perhaps just by hiding, and letting the media attack Trump.

OK...Everyone is missing this one. Of all the test questions they asked, economy, jobs, cares about people, etc, the two they DID NOT ask were terrorism and immigration, Trump’s strongest issues. So, they are steering these polls away from issues that Trump wins on, which would have an impact on the poll depending on when they asked candidate preference.

Political polls are pretty much useless now. To the extent they try to be objective, which is pretty rare these days, their models are so broken they are no longer capable of reporting political opinions correctly.

Significant denunciation of voters' opinions only gets the latter to go dark, but doesn't influence their opinions in the slightest. Basically the MSM's political correctness has poisoned the well as far as public opinion polls are concerned.

Only hostile environment polling - polls of secondary opinions which when properly analyzed reveal real opinions on other issues - can work now. This is vastly expensive, incompatible with phone polling, etc, etc, etc.

This is several orders of magnitude greater than the Bradley Effect.

It is also different from, but related to, systematic bias by the polling industry. Basically the polling industry is a faction of the MSM and political elites in general.

Here all of those factors are working simultaneously.

I can’t think of anything good she’s ever done; however, what she hasn’t done is jet-setted to some other country to plug her not-for-the-average-joe, upper-crust golf course at the onset of a market crash.

Terrible? No. Stupid? Maybe. A good move? Probably not in the eyes of those who're unsure about voting for him, which may a whole lot more than the polls suggest. A couple more of these types of "minding his business interests" moves and odds are he'll be toast with the unsure crowd.

Unless people have just given up on getting any change. If she gets elected the war against America will ramp up.

I have no idea. Sounded like you did by your posts. If not, then accept my apology for not reading your mind. Or don't.

Why not accept an apology to yourself for making a really stupid assumption based on zero evidence. Not smart.

Why not accept an apology to yourself...

Absolutely no need to do such a thing.

Bye.
