Navy says American sailors blabbed to Iranian captors

The US sailors who were detained by the Iranian navy last winter provided their name, rank and serial numbers - and pretty much everything else their captors demanded, the US Navy said in a blistering report Thursday.

The 10 crew members, captured at gunpoint in the Persian Gulf on Jan. 12 by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, improperly revealed passwords for laptops and cellphones and even sensitive technical details about their two ships, including their top speed, capabilities and missions, the report said.

The Navy report blamed the incident on a combination of poor planning, clueless leaders who did not properly consider how risky their actions were, a lack of crew oversight and low morale.

In WWII when the Nazi Subs were patrolling the East Coast like they owned it, the U Boats would use the lights of Miami, Atlantic City and the other beach ‘resort’ areas to attack shipping which was hugging the coast line.

It took a lot to get those people on the Coast to ‘turn off the lights at night’..

Also, Capt Reinhart CO U123 transited Long Island Sound - using an Esso road Map to navigate - along with the lights. They made it into NY Harbor...

So today when this scathing report comes out about Obama’s feckless Navy, he sends out Ash Carter, who really should wear a jester’s cap on these occasions, to announce that now the trangender mentally ill will be welcomed into Obama’s military. The dozens of good officers who this traitorous Chimp in Chief fired can thank God they are no longer required to assist in the destruction of America’s armed forces.

What is classified is where/how we got the data on the officers and tied it into their plans.

That would not be available to the guys and gals on those boats.

This is an attempt to blame the sailors put into danger by stupid naval commanders instead of the commanders.

I still believe that if McCain was on those boats the outcome would have been the same. He would have performed equally as the other crewmen on board. No better, no worse. As far as being a POW, he even admits in his book that he was treated better than his fellow prisoners because of his daddy. Beyond that, he is despicable for betraying the pow’s left behind.

Were those guns even armed and did they have ammo.

Even if armed, did they have to contact some Jagoff Jag lawyer before defending themselves?

Why did the one boat have engine failure. Was that due to recycled cooking oil being used as fuel?

Was the mission briefed before and all gear including GPS working and as well as the SAT radios.

Or were they ordered to get into the boats and just go without proper prep and ensuring that everything worked.

Had the crews trained as crews before the mission?

Did the Iranians use the female sailor to get info from the other sailors. Use your own definition of use.

I read his entire, original, Newsweek interview from, I believe 1963 or 1964, and he never mentioned getting his arms broke.
He did mention that when they found out who his father was, the got really nice to him.

We used to give the Ruskies technology on a regular basis during the Cold War, simply to keep their threat believable when it came time for appropriations and defense spending. I thought Juan McCain was going to soupena everybody in sight to get to the bottom of this. The fact that he didn’t tells me these sailors got nabbed on a secret mission — like delivering SEALS to that island. SEALS who are likely dead.
