One of my fond memories of my father is that of him reciting the Declaration of Independence while we were driving to the St. Paul (OR) rodeo one Fourth of July. Dad’s birthday was July 4th, and our family (or those of us in town, anyway) went to the rodeo on that day for over 30 years. The announcer used to introduce Dad to the crowd, after about 25 consecutive rodeos.

Dad passed away in 2002. I’ll always miss him.

Yea, that’s pretty close. I signed up first around 1999, but got purged for some reason, I guess because I didn’t post much and mainly lurked. Kinda like I do now LOL.

Thought it might have been a Ted Kennedy reading so I didn’t attempt to watch it.

(he always had more squeaks, groans, grunts and uhs than poorly maintained babbitt bearings)

I didn’t even use the Internet in 1999, and didn’t happen across FR until about 2006 or so. Nothing wrong with lurking; I don’t post about 9/10 of the comments I think of, maybe more.
