Being an intern is a privilege. These ingrates took internships that others were undoubtedly waiting in line to get. By expressing dissatisfaction with their working conditions they were basically telling their teachers that they knew better how to run their business than them.
I’m sure their replacements were more than happy to adhere to the dress code without crying about it or petitioning for better working conditions.
BTW, getting kicked out of an internship is going to look pretty bad on their resumes.
Hey Snowflakes, when your pour your own sweat equity into a company, then you can have any dress code you want. Until then, do as your told, and don’t complain.
You forgot to ping the snowflake.
No, it does NOT depend on the request. They are there at the indulgence of the employer. If they don’t like something, they are free to leave. Perhaps after several weeks learning how the place works they *might* be able to make intelligent suggestions, but not within days of arriving.
It’s an insult for a completely green employee to tell their employer they know better how to run the place. Sheesh!
No, no...like the candy bar.
Oh, you have aspirations of going into our tyrannical government? Not even listen to a request before unilaterally declaring it offensive seems more like a slave-owner relationship.
They are there at the indulgence of the employer.
Who is saying that the employer doesn't have the right to fire them? I'm not.
If they dont like something, they are free to leave.
But not to ask if it can be changed?
Perhaps after several weeks learning how the place works they *might* be able to make intelligent suggestions, but not within days of arriving.
That really depends on their past experience, doesn't it?
My brother served in the Marines and is going to school to become a Doctor, he's already been to the Army's Medical school (he joined the National Guard after his enlistment was up) — if he was given an internship somewhere in this new field (civilian medicine), should his observations be dismissed out of hand because he has no experience in the industry
?
Its an insult for a completely green employee to tell their employer they know better how to run the place. Sheesh!
It shows a lack of leadership to not even listen to your people.
Indeed, this is exactly the problem with our government — they completely ignore the cries of us on things like taxes, regulations, justice… this last one is very evident in Hillary's non-prosecution, in the terrible deals we're forced into (like the treason that is the Iran Deal) and NAFTA, with [non]enforcement of laws like immigration.
Context is everything, FRiend.
These kids come in and within a couple of days are telling the boss how to run the place.
I’d fire them too. The moment the petition (!) hit my desk, their butts would be in the parking lot.
These special snowflakes had the unmitigated gall to tell their boss how to do business, within days of being brought on board. Life doesn’t work like that, ever. New hires are to LEARN the job, not tell others how to run their shop. Interns are there to learn, not tell the management how to run the place.
