Way too many things wrong with this story.

Doesn’t pass the smell test.

Sundance has a lot of detail over at CTH.

Apparently, the guy was a Crip with a huge rap sheet, which may preclude the CCW.

This happens, a criminal will lie about having CCW to sucker punch a cop - then you end up with dead cop.

In any event, we have no public video of the actual shooting, so we cannot conclude on the officer’s conduct, or misconduct.

Lots of good comments and analysis there...

The police themselves advise their friends and family to do this. It simply means that you know the routine and are not a threat

Right now the entirety of the judgement being made here is the driver’s own video stream that begins after the shooting. We might want to wait to learn what circumstances initiated the traffic stop and what transpired in the moments just before the shooting that prompted the driver to begin streamcasting to Facebook.

The woman said in her Facebook stream that the reason the police pulled her over was for a broken taillight and you’re taking her word for it. Other video from a nearby homeowner shows her taillights are apparently working just fine. But hold your thoughts on that for a moment.

I’m a bit suspicious of the presence of several police cruisers at the scene immediately after the shooting while the dying man still has a gun trained on him by the policeman who shot him. This was apparently a traffic stop involving several police cruisers. That suggests a planned felony stop. It took several minutes for other cruisers to appear blocking the boulevard when they had a casualty. The other cruisers were already present at the time of the shooting.

Well, what could it possibly be that made this stop go so wrong? I think we might want to question why the dead man’s personal Facebook page was deactivated so suddenly. There’s sites out there who screen-ripped his Facebook page before it was taken down that apparently show the dead man had gang and drug ties, a criminal arrest record, and his network of friends are likewise removing negative images and commentary from their pages that feature him in a negative light. If that’s all legitimate, of course.

Too many people are just presuming he was a lawful citizen and a legitimate CCW holder based upon his girlfriend’s claims made on viral video.

Yes, this shooting appears very bad and will certainly blow up into national attention, but better wait on this one. I am merely saying that the police won’t talk their way out of this one easily, but this could possibly be another Eric Brown incident unfolding slowly.

“What about the video where the cop tells him to show him his ID after he tells the cop he has a concealed carry permit?”

I didnt see that video, only the one after he was shot.

I agree, lots more to this story. Unfortunately, the BLM bottom feeders got what they needed and the truth will never undo what was transmitted in the first few hours.

He wasn’t the driver? Then why did the cop ask HIM for his license and registration?

At least in her video, we have a current image of the man, so the BGI can’t show him as a 12-year old pre-pubescent. (not that they won’t try)

Agree that something fishy here, but need more details.

“It’s the law folks!”

No it’s not in all states.

You must carry your permit and proper ID (such as a driver license) when carrying a concealed firearm. Both the permit and proper identification must be presented if asked by a peace officer (no duty to first inform). A violation is an infraction punishable by a $25 fine (NRS 202.3667). Note that this does not require you to carry your concealed firearm permit when carrying openly. Nevada does not require you to notify a peace officer that you are carrying a firearm, but out of courtesy and for your own safety, if you are being detained, you may choose to inform the officer you are lawfully carrying a concealed firearm.

“But she is so much calmer than the police officer, who is in a panic.”

Almost like one knew they were in the right, and one knew they were screwed for being in the wrong.

Totally not fair. Likely she was in shock and disbelief. In the follow up video, where she's handcuffed in the back of the squad car, she begins to loose it right before her phone dies. I don't know how I'd react when you're driving one moment and the last thing you expect is to have someone close to you shot dead in a moment. I'm guessing that she was sh!t scared that if she made ANY type of hostile move she could wind up dead too. This cop was freakin out remember. Her adrenaline was probably pumping at full output up until sometime after being put in the back of the car.

“I guess “Don’t move” means don’t move.”
Then what does “give me your ID” mean?

I was simply relaying what she said in her video. She relates the whole sequence starting at 2:12.

"Give me your ID" was superseded by another command, "Don't move."

That's first-hand, on-the-spot video testimony right there.

The police union lawyer will claim he did not wake up today and say, “hey, I’m gonna shoot an honest man today”.
Honest man still dead.
