DEVELOPING: The State Department is reopening an internal investigation of possible mishandling of classified information by Hillary Clinton and top aides.

Spokesman John Kirby says the emails probe is restarting now that the Justice Department isn't pursuing a criminal prosecution. The State Department suspended its review in April to avoid interfering with the FBI's inquiry.

Kirby set no deadline for the investigation's completion.

Well it looks like a twofer.

FBI was referred a case by Congress, and the State Department is following up.

In all fairness, Comey laid the groundwork by saying 'Walk them out the door'.

I bet this is a policy review. In a couple of years they will issue a report that will state Hillary and her staff took advantage of some loopholes in policy which have since been closed. Case closed.

It’s nothing but a big waste of time and money. That’s already being done on a regular basis with Michelle Obama’s tax payer funded vacations around the world.

I guess I just find it hard to share your enthusiasm here, and too jaded to believe anything will come from this.

I thought Comey calling her a dumbass made State look pretty bad especially when he said he’d walk her out the door.

I could be wrong but me guesses this is just another red hearing distraction ploy for this administration to rub in our faces. What do they call those have absolute control of a country?

In a couple of years....

In a couple of MONTHS......right before the election. The State Dept will completely exonerate her, blaming everyone else who handled anything she touched, at the State Dept.

Being done so they can resist FOIA requests. But it is ok politically for Trump.

She was under oath during that Benghazi testimony?”

Early on during Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz’s opening questions, he asked Director Comey if the FBI investigated whether Hillary Clinton lied under oath.
Dir Comey via screengrab FBI Director James Comey testified on Thursday before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Committee. In a surprising turn of events, Congressman Jason Chaffetz announced that he would be sending a referral to the FBI to investigate whether Hillary Clinton lied under oath during her testimony before the Select Committee on Benghazi in October 2015.

Early on during Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz’s opening questions, he asked Director Comey if the FBI investigated whether Hillary Clinton lied under oath.

“Not to the FBI, not in a case we are working,” Director Comey replied.

Congressman Chaffetz then clarified that he was referring to her testimony before the Select Committee on Benghazi in October 2015.

“Did you review the documents where Congressman Jim Jordan asked her specifically, and she said ‘There was nothing marked classified on my emails either sent or received,’” Congressman Chaffetz asked.

“I don’t remember reviewing that particular testimony,” Director Comey replied. “I am aware of that being said, though.”

“Did the FBI investigate her statements under oath on this topic?” Congressman Chaffetz asked.

“Not to my knowledge — I don’t think there has been a referral from Congress,” Director Comey replied.

“Do you need a referral from Congress to investigate her statements under oath?” Congressman Chaffetz asked.

“Sure do,” Comey replied.

Congressman Chaffetz then left no doubt that the FBI would have one, very soon.

“You’ll have one. You’ll have one in the next few hours,” Chaffetz said.

"any findings will generate new policies applicable to current and future employees"

That's beltway speak for "we need a bigger budget to implement policies to prevent violations of past policies".

Never let a crisis go to waste. The Clintons are nothing but crisis central, 24/7. That is the beltway love affair with them. Clintons grow government.

Figured but twice accused for the same crime? One department passes on her but another one comes forward with the same/similar accusation? BTW I am not, repeat not a Hilldebeeste fan, just chatting about a rule of law or something.
