The military fired me for calling our enemies radical jihadis (Michael Flynn, possible VP for Trump)
NY Post ^ | July 9, 2016 | 11:26pm | Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn

Posted on 07/10/2016 2:33:47 AM PDT by Dave346

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who is reportedly being vetted by Donald Trump as potential running mate, was fired as head of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in the winter of 2014 after three decades in the military. Here he tells the real story of his departure from his post and why America is not getting any closer to winning the war on terror.

Two years ago, I was called into a meeting with the undersecretary of defense for intelligence and the director of national intelligence, and after some “niceties,” I was told by the USDI that I was being let go from DIA. It was definitely an uncomfortable moment (I suspect more for them than me).

I asked the DNI (Gen. James Clapper) if my leadership of the agency was in question and he said it was not; had it been, he said, they would have relieved me on the spot.

I knew then it had more to do with the stand I took on radical Islamism and the expansion of al Qaeda and its associated movements. I felt the intel system was way too politicized, especially in the Defense Department. After being fired, I left the meeting thinking, “Here we are in the middle of a war, I had a significant amount of combat experience (nearly five years) against this determined enemy on the battlefield and served at senior levels, and here it was, the bureaucracy was letting me go.” Amazing.

At the time, I was working very hard to change the culture of DIA from one overly focused on Washington, DC, to a culture that focused on our forward-based war fighters and commanders. It was not an easy shift, but it was necessary and exactly the reason I was put into the job in the first place.

He didn’t exactly steal the election in 2012 basically because he wasn’t running against anyone. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are two democrat operatives who purposely sabatoged their campaign near the end so Obama could win. They were two democrat posing as Republicans to give people the illusion they had a choice.thats why Romney and Ryan are speaking out against Trump because they are both Democrats.

As VP, would not General Flynn be some kind of *insurance* for Donald Trump the Threatened ?!

Folks ask why wasn't Obama impeached? - The answer - Joe Biden.

"Just as the Muslim world has failed, so the secular tyrants have wrecked their own countries. They hate us in part because they know their own peoples would prefer to live as we do."

He hasn't got it all right. Secular dictators are the most stable form of government in much of the Muslim world. The populace does not prefer to live like us. Many of them want to impose Sharia law and kill or inslave the infidel. The US naive attempt to impose democracy on Muslim countries has led to much grief and death.

Regardless of how good this man might be picking him as VP would be a strategic error.Trump needs a Senator or a Governor, preferably from the middle third of the country,as his veep. This General may well Sec of Defense material however.

I think that's Internet shenanigans. The real answer as to why Obama wasn't impeached was a) a lack of really solid charges as to why, and b) a lack of intestinal fortitude by Congressional opposition.

You are here on FR for what reason, Noob?

What a bunch of defeatest dribble you may consider reasoned thought of just throw up our hands, bend over and take what we are being told to accept?

Maybe you Tonto but there is a whole community of Rangers who are not alone willing to fill the breach when given the command by a commander who understands the battlefield and the enemy at hand.

Have you been there on the ground? I have and as far back as the early 70’s I have some of the same observations as does the General. I suppose your version of Christianity during the dark ages is one of pure wine and roses as well. There is a reason why this country was founded by those who were wanting to escape the Crown and its enforcers in that of the Bishops. When I was in Tehran, I made the same observations of equivalency of their dominant religion’s use of power controlled through fear. There are two distinct peoples in Iran, Persians and Arabs. Do a little research on Cyrus for an insight on where the General is going with his comments. In more recent history, the Green Revolution of 2009 only reinforces it. Check out the writings of the in-exile Crowned Prince of Iran if you doubt that. http://rezapahlavi.org/en/

Khomeni knew exactly what he was doing and if not for the gullible French who protected this maniac, he would have been nothing more than a inkblot in history like he was before Carter went looking for anything to get back at the Shah for kicking him out of his palace and country.

No, the answer is because we have a spineless Republican do-nothing Congress whose interests are aligned with the Democrats, so why would they impeach?? Esp since the evidence for it is glaring??

But NOW... these same spineless RINO traitors are calling for Trump’s impeachment BEFORE HE’S EVEN BEEN NOMINATED!!!

Believe it or not, many of us JAGs are the ones who bring a voice of reason and perspective to our commanders. Many of us are also strong Christians and our faith informs every single piece of advice we give. #lawyerlivesmatter.

I know, we didn’t have a choice because the treasonists in this country have taken it upon themselves to deny the people a voice, the treasonists are hellbent on bringing fascism to the USA. That’s why these same treasonists are constantly attacking Trump because he is their biggest threat and to me, that is exactly why he is running. He was absolutely outraged by the last election, how the fix was in for this Islamic puke.

As Secretary of Defense, he could weed out the politically correct officers who have been promoted by the Obama administration.

The entire government has been planted in such weeds..., tankcars of Roundup would stretch from coast to coast to do the job...

Agreed, but at this point in time, do you task your accountant or Roto-Rooter to clean up the corrupt cesspool inside the Pentagon?

The accountants at Roto-Rooter may know or have a very good idea of what tools might be needed to effect a clean-up, but nothing is nearly as effective as someone who is on the ground knowing how to use them.

The reasons you did not see pics of Obama in Muslim dress as a candidate?

Bill and Hillary had the pics back in 2008 (when it as still OK to criticize Mulims).

But Uncle Teddy went ballistic...warned them not to use them.

Teddy and Caroline then endorsed a perplexed Obama.

Like what? Violating the Constitution? Better start lining up the former POTUSes at least back to John Adams. For inciting the racial animosity and stoking anti-police sentiments? He's stating his opinions on the topics. For bringing in Muslim foreign fighters? He's bringing in refugees from war-torn countries, something many other presidents prior have done.

My point here is that there's a major, major leap from internet screeching "He's a traitor! Impeach!" to proving the actual legal reasons for an impeachment. Clinton was caught red-handed committing perjury and it was still a tough go at impeachment (though it shouldn't have been). You can call it pragmatism, due diligence, or cowardice, but the reality is that impeachment is difficult to pull off. If it wasn't, you can bet W would've been impeached circa 2006.

No disrespect, Sir. But you, maybe more than most, are very well aware of the overriding culture within your profession that gives it a bad name. You are also aware that any policy starts at the top and can only be propagated by those who do not take their sacred honor to guide them.

Not digging at JAG but those civilian appointees that under our Constitution tell you what will or will not be irregardless of your advice, and I’m sure you are too well aware of that. I have been there on the technology side through my work at the Electronic Proving Ground.

"Dems were just as big Socialists and Communists in 1986 as they are now, they’re just more openly degenerate than before."

Demonicrats have been socialists at least since FDR, and UN buttboys since Truman. By the 1960s, high school world history books were already spouting the Demonicrat and UN commie propaganda lies.

He could very well end up being VP because he has experience in the military leadership and even with the House and Senate, such tough leadership can and do work wonders. Got to have someone who will cause House and Senate folks to “respect”.

What are his positions on everything else? I don’t know, you don’t know.

What I don’t understand is his affiliation with the Democratic Party. For 30 years he and his men have been crapped upon by every democratic in Washington since Sam Nunn. Why do you continue to stay in the party? Wesley Clark bought the democratic line and stayed a democrat.

I’m tired of surprises, I want to see solid credentials.
