Is the Party Over For Bushism?
World Net Daily ^ | 7/18/16 | Pat Buchanan

Posted on 07/19/2016 7:04:30 AM PDT by ek_hornbeck

Neither George W. Bush, the Republican Party nominee in 2000 and 2004, nor Jeb, the dethroned Prince of Wales, will be in Cleveland. Nor will John McCain or Mitt Romney, the last two nominees.

These former leaders would like it thought that high principle keeps them away from a GOP convention that would nominate Donald Trump. Petulance, however, must surely play a part. Bush Republicans feel unappreciated, and understandably so.

For Trump’s nomination represents not only a rejection of their legacy but a repudiation of much of post-Cold War party dogma.

America crossed a historic divide and entered a new era. Even should Trump lose, there is likely no going back.

As much as i liked GW,as soon as he uttered the ignorant phrase, “It’s a religion of peace”, that ended it for me.

Arguably the Bushes are the most outrageous example of governing incompetence in the history of the USA.

Speaking of incompetence, it's weird how perspective is everything and how a shift in perspective changes everything.

It seems like, not long ago I would have argued with you about that.

More recently, I would have reluctantly, as I voted for these "lesser" evils, agreed with you.

Not sure when it happened, but one day I noticed that my assumptions had quit working.

Out of calibration or something, I dunno, not sure what happened, but anyway, with regard to the Bush Family and the rest of the GOPe and how we got here?

Nowadays, I can't tell the difference between what's incompetence and what's intentional.

How's that for a fundamental transformation?

Let me guess - you’re still sore that Jeb isn’t the GOP nominee.

Pat got screwed, they called him every name they could and it stuck. They tried it with Trump and it didn’t.

Of course, your notion of “historical truth” seems to be repeating RNC talking points verbatim, while defending its most corrupt representatives out of partisan loyalty. Must be nice to have a political party do all the thinking for you.

Nobody seems to miss him.

I heard his voice speaking the other day and I have to be honest it made me long for the Bush years. Yeah, I know he was a globalist tool just as all the others but those were wonderful years for me personally.

Not saying I miss him but you catch my drift, I hope.

The Bush family lost me with their continual socializing with and kind words for the Clinton family criminals. If you want to be thought of as a person of integrity, high morals and honesty, you don’t pal around with and praise Bonnie and Clyde.

Which of my posts is a lie, exactly? Usually, when someone calls somebody else a liar, they at least make an effort to factually refute the other person's claim. You just squawk "liar" like a broken wind-up toy.

That's fine. I wasn't expecting any better from a die-hard defender and fan of Dennis Hastert.

Moreover, while Zero has taken a wrecking-ball to the US, this globalist, 0bama/Saudi-enabling SOB has said ZIP, ZERO, NADA about it.

***************

That is the worst part of it. He has chosen to retreat from his leadership responsibilities as a former president in defending the country against her detractors and all enemies, foreign and domestic. GWB was AWOL when it came time for him to stand up. Instead he slid under a rock. I have no respect for him whatsoever.

Excellent and quite accurate translations!

Here’s another Bushism that I’ve already taken the liberty of translating: No illegal immigrants left behind.

It reminds me of how getting Romney or Jeb to say anything against Obama or the Clintons was like pulling teeth, but they’re suddenly all full of fight, passion, and energy when it comes to attacking Trump.

True observation. And the exact same thing could be said of the sleazebags Ryan and McConnell.

***********

Actually it more like evolving than a transformation. You’ve witnessed a long series of failures and political deceit by a once esteemed family and, like the rest of us, after processing it all revised your views along the way. Nothing wrong with that at all. In fact, in my opinion you are to be commended for your personal honesty and objectivity.

A measure of the quality of any leader is the condition of culture/society before and after their tenure. At the very least, he should not do any harm.
Reagan left Bush a legacy which the latter dismissed and dismantled; ushering in Clinton.
Bush 2, w/the blessing of an R Congress for 6 years; massively expanded governance and spending.
More critically he took us into a disastrous war. Why???
So as to bring “ democracy to the Arab” (his words). Like all pious types who wear they humanitarianism on their shirt sleeve; Bush was your quintessential busy body lacking judgement and the most critical attribute required of leaders; the Prudence to reflect on the impact in the future of an action taken in the now!
Saddam Hussein was the mortal enemy of our greater enemy, the Mullahs of Iran; hence he was our ‘friend’.
The consequences of removing him was to set the Middle East on fire; resulting in the destruction of multiple dozens of Christian Communities that dotted the Fertile Crescent since the latter centuries of the Roman Empire.
Wonder what this jackass will say to Saint Peter when he is asked, “So what have you done?”
