A Deeper Look into Ted Cruz’s RNC Convention Speech
Conservative Treehouse ^ | July 21, 2016 | Sundance

Posted on 07/21/2016 4:03:01 AM PDT by detective

Before Ted Cruz walked onto the convention stage in Cleveland, Donald Trump had a very good idea what was about to happen. Without pre-planning, or staged set-ups, Trump knew what to expect because Donald Trump has an exceptional political sense; he knows how to read his adversaries.

Throughout his life, Ted Cruz has exhibited a character of division; entirely tone-deaf to the people he encounters and leaves in his wake. Those who knew Cruz in grade school and college have talked about how Cruz’s abrasive personality made him a lonely person despite his intellect.

Toxic abrasiveness is the same reason why President George W Bush would not elevate Ted Cruz in the White House 2001-2005. Attorney Cruz was 30-years-old and arrogantly thought he should have been a candidate for Attorney General; unfortunately, no-one else did.

"donors will never trust a candidate willing to expose his own conceited nature on such a large scale.

Senator Ted Cruz ended his political career the same way he came into it, all alone."

Ted’s cold logic:

If I diss Trump, but ...
Trump wins, but is a presidential loser = I win
Trump wins and is a presidential winner = I lose
Trump loses and Hillary is a presidential loser = I win
Trump loses and Hillary is a presidential winner = I lose

If I endorse Trump, but ...
Trump wins, but is a presidential loser = I lose
Trump wins and is a presidential winner = Maybe I get offered Department of Justice
Trump loses and Hillary is a presidential loser = I lose
Trump loses and Hillary is a presidential winner = I lose

His insult to the people of NY last night, the bland, oblivious look on his face when he said it, makes me think he’s either autistic or mad as a hatter.

And Ted was wrong. He was wrong because group loyalty counts more than utility and when he publicly refused to honor his word he destroyed those bonds of group loyalty under a call for unity. Ted Cruz does not fundamentally understand how human being think. He’s brilliant and focused in some areas, but when it comes to how people think he’s clueless.

As a New Yorker having lived in Texas, I can tell you, that expressed, visceral Texas hatred toward New Yorkers, while perhaps not held by a majority of Texas, is quite casually accepted. It was ugly to see it on stage last night, but very familiar to me

Bigotry

Yes, I’ve experienced that hatred here on FR. Especially after his NY values remark. I never hear NYers talking about Texans!

My favorite part of the Cruz speech was when the crowd started booing him, the vacant look that came over his eyes.

He was not required to endorse Trump in order to speak, was aloted 9 minutes, but spoke over 22 minutes.

Ted is done in my eyes.
