Fear is a powerful instinct. Fear is so potent, and the innate drive to protect one’s self from harm is so overpowering, that it can override almost every other instinct, including those related to intellect and judgment.
Which is why Donald Trump desperately wants to frighten you.
The obvious problem with the Republican presidential nominee’s convention speech last night is that it was less a speech and more a series of strung together scary falsehoods.

Trump wants you to be afraid of criminals. And immigrants. And Democrats. And refugees. And government regulations. And quite possibly the monster that could be hiding under your bed.
In fact, as far as the Republican presidential candidate is concerned, the United States is already a dystopian hellscape, where the sun no longer shines, where few can experience joy, and where all hope is lost.
But don’t worry, Donald J. Trump can make America great again.
Just don’t ask him how.

We’ve been frogs in Obama’s pot for the last 7+ years as he’s lied his @ss off blowing smoke up ours. The water in the pot has gotten pretty darn hot - some folks are noticing and many are either not aware or practicing willful blindness ..... it’s about time someone was honest with the American people and told them the true state of the Nation. That is not fear mongering. Those of us who live in the reality of Obama’s nightmare recognize the truth of what Trump is saying .... those who are mentally ill with Liberalism or just plain evil like Hillary & her minions, are very, very upset after Trump’s speech & dare I say ‘afraid’ that finally, someone had the balls to call to our attention & explode the Obama boil festering on America’s butt for the last 7+ years. The stench of putrid corruption has engulfed Obama, Hillary, the Democrats/Libs/Progs and the media enablers. I don’t think much of Frank Luntz’s focus groups, but last night, not a single “undecided” was going to vote for Hillary after the RNC Convention - not a single one.
I could with more truth claim that the left’s policy is to invite the murderer in and offer up your children to them, and pay them to murder you and your family.
Obama is seeding “welcoming” Muslim communities all over the United States, and we are just “hiding under the bed?”
