If you didn’t notice – which you probably haven’t, because it’s still unbearably hot – the year’s longest heat wave has ended, but that doesn’t mean the temperature’s cooling off that much, or for that long. In fact, another heat wave is likely in store.
The city and surrounding areas have been issued an excessive heat watch for this weekend. The National Weather service said a coming heat wave could bring the highest temperatures of the summer, starting tomorrow. Highs will reach the mid to upper 90s, according to the NWS.
Don’t surprised if temperatures soar into the triple digits on Saturday and Sunday. Heat index values are expected to reach as high as 105 degrees

Only 93 here in Central Valley but supposed to be 108 by next Friday.

Storms off of Mexico keep the humidity comparable to what I knew in Augusta, Georgia Summer of 1966 when I was at Fort Gordon, or what I knew in Uijongbu, South Korea. Maybe our deserts are dry, but not so much right here where all we have to do is walk outside to start sweating like crazy. No need to exert oneself at all. Hot, and sticky.

Since John Kerry said air conditioning is as big a threat as ISIS, will the Democrats set a good example and cut off the air conditioning at their convention???
And I offer proof of what you say. It’s hot in the southern hemisphere during december, january and february.

Since John Kerry has now announced that air conditioners are worse than ISIS, I am counting on the DNC to do the right thing by turning off the AC for the duration of the convention.
I hope the DNC will support Sec State kerry’s battle against global warming and that he sees air conditioning as an equal or greater threat than ISIS by ordering the turning off of all the airconditioning units in the Philly convention center, to include the room that houses its computer servers. And all the hotels that lodge Democrapt delegates. Let them realize what the danger of too much heat is.
