ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — As speculation increased about the possibility he will be chosen as Hillary Clinton’s running mate, Democratic Senator Tim Kaine reached out to northern Virginia’s immigrant and Muslim communities.
Kaine deflected questions about the veepstakes at Thursday’s events. But he made the case that Virginia’s transformation over the last 60 years from segregation to embracing diversity is a message that can resonate this election season.
In the morning, Kaine addressed immigration issues at a Unitarian Universalist church in Arlington. In the afternoon, he spoke at a roundtable discussion sponsored by the All Dulles Area Muslims Society Center in Sterling.

Jamal al Barzinji, American Muslim activist, died at 75
Jamal al Barzinji, born in 1939 and died September 26, 2015.
Jamal was an Iraqi-American businessman, associated with the International Institute of Islamic Thought, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, and the SAAR Foundation.
He was a founder and served on the board of the Islamic Society of North America and is a past president of the Muslim Students’ Association.
Jamal was listed as the successor registrant of Grover Norquist’s defunct lobbying firm Janus-Merritt Strategies, after the departure of David Safavian.
On September 25, 2011 Jamal was awarded a lifetime achievement award by the Arab community of northern Virginia at an event attended by Virginia governor Tim Kaine.

In Virginia if you want to win the federal offices in politics you must make peace with the Muslims. They have a large voting block which votes as told. That’s how the Democrats hold all the big offices. It’s headquartered in Northern Virginia. And they brag about putting them into office.
