..........well, “us” conservatives are not pure as the driven snow although we are “angels” compared to democrats. So, I don’t think he has done “great damage” to the conservative movement. I do agree with you though that he has done “great damage” to his political career.

That said, Cruz is a guy that stood up to the “Elites” in the Senate and I respect him for that.

I wish he had not had this mental lapse but I still think he is one of only 4 dependable conservatives in the Senate. The other three being Sessions, Cotton, and Lee.

Name a purer conservative in the Senate in terms of voting record other than Sessions, Cotton or Lee.

Notwithstanding, don’t think for a moment that I don’t agree with you that he was a complete dumbass at the convention the other night. I just believe that as smare as he is (most of the time) he can get past that night and still serve the conservatives of America well albeit in another position than President or Vice President.

The DNC wants Cruz’s Senate seat. and he walked right into their trap.

Well, I suppose he could be primaried. Is Rick Perry available for that seat? He seemed popular with the Texas electorate.

He has missed a ton of votes and TPA, Coker plus his wish to increase H1B 500% are not too conservative. That said anyone can change and put pride aside and support American interests. I hope that for him.

No, I do hope Ted can redeem himself and rebuild his reputation and serve us conservatives in the Senate and/or in some other position.

I’ve learned in 4 decades as an adult as an employer of hundreds to not to give up on a man over one mistake. Remember, it wasn’t too long ago that most of us loved the guy.

Now, notwithstanding any of the foregoing, I agree with all of you that are disagreeing with me that his mistake was a whopper and it just might not be one he can recover from.

But, if he came out and publicly stated that what he did was stupid and he is going to work his ass off for Trump then I will bet anybody here that Trump would accept his apology and move on. At least I hope he would. I know I would and I believe at the heart of this is the simple fact that Ted has over-reacted times ten because his wife’s reputation was caught up in the whole affair. Some of us would have done the same thing.

The “football” that is in the air and we all need to keep our eye on is defeating Hillary Clinton and her ability to appoint judges up and down the line, not just the Supreme Court.......AND, not arguing about Ted.

I believe the ton of votes you refer to was due to his aggressive campaign schedule. Not that that necessarily excuses him. I personally believe these Senators and other office holders should resign and run for another office. Oh well.

On the TPA, you got me, I will have to research that. On the H1B, my feeble recall is that he voted for it because it was limited to highly educated and much needed people that the US needs desperately and that are not otherwise available. If I’m wrong on that then you are right. It would not be a conservative vote. And, lol, it would not be the first time I was wrong.

2 friends children are having difficulty getting the employment they want because employers can hire H1B IT immigrants for less than college graduates here ask. Did you miss the upset when Disney made their IT personnel train their H1B replacements. Americans are trained and want the jobs given to H1B.

........You may be right but what I recall is the driver on this H1B issue is thousands of jobs requiring graduate degrees, particularly in engineering, are going unfilled. If that’s true, then that’s not good for any of us. Like everything though, of a journalistic nature, the truth is extremely difficult to find.

Normally, I would go research the question and get back with you, but I’m having too much fun watching the Dem’s cut their throats!

Well when you get a chance, research how many college grads can’t get jobs to pay back those student loans and are taking part time jobs in unrelated fields. I have no issue with using H1B after our citizens are employed. We have no shortage of engineers or other skilled degrees.

Enjoy the Dems chaos. Have they had the fart in yet?

All sides of the h1b issue can find facts to support their case. Last month I watched and read some articles about law firms guiding companies through the h1b process, with job listings listed that Americans couldn’t qualify for, no matter their experience/qualifications. The law firm was glib about how impossible they made it. Once they have “satisfied” the laws criteria for attempting to find “qualified” American workers, then they can throw open the h1b doors. The law firms throw seminars to market this process to companies large and small. It was disgusting.

I was a Cruz fan until he refused to support Trump when he won the primary. The reason he refused was because he was personally offended by Trumps treatment of his wife and father. Cruz had every right to be offended but it was wrong for him to refuse to support Trump because of a personal offense.
