I believe there was one DNC convention where they passed out American flags to all the Democrats, creating a media friendly sea of waving American flags during the convention.

However, the problem was as they were leaving the Democrats threw their free flags on the floor or in a trash can. Photos of flag-overflowing trash cans with American flags on the floor went viral.

I'm sure they don't want that to happen again.

I always thought it would be great to burn a Soviet flag at a counter-protest of liberals.

During the Bush anti-war protest/counter-protest days in our town they used a lot of UN flags and accidently threw one away one time. So we used it as a doormat to our counter-protest area for many years. I was inspired to do that by a Denver FReeper.
