Trump Hijacks the Democrat Convention
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | 7/27/2016 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: I really don't believe that I have ever seen what I just saw. I've been thinking. I've been trying to dig deep into the dark crevices of my memory, and I don't think I've ever seen what I just saw. Donald Trump just hijacked the Democrat convention after the biggest night of that convention so far. Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, just concluded, right in time for this program to begin. (They got the memo.)

He just concluded a freewheeling, no-holds-barred, no-controls-on-the-media, "Whatever you want to ask me, ask me," press conference the day after the supposedly biggest event yet in the Democrat National Convention. He just totally hijacked it, and he was brilliant. He was on his game. This was the Trump from last fall. He was confident, he was hilarious, he was taking no BS from any in the media. He was challenging Hillary to do the same thing and calling her out, saying she hasn't done a press conference in over a year.

And she can't do what Trump did today. Hillary Clinton intellectually, personality-wise, is not capable. She's not capable of doing what Donald Trump did today. I have never seen a Republican presidential nominee even get involved in the Democrat convention. My experience is that the playbook in the professional, insider world of politics is that when one party is having its convention, the other party goes silent.

They don't run any ads, they don't do any press conferences, they don't do any appearances -- or very few. It's a courtesy. It's a courtesy and tradition, I guess,

I'm not so sure - the Dems are, have been, and will continue to be profoundly discourteous and disrespectful to opponent, country, and voters. It is a matter passing marvelous that they've been able to get away with it up to now, and part of that is that they so seldom experience any seriously pushback.

These people burn flags. They demonize opponents as racists, sexists, and opponents of whatever ism du jour strikes their fancy, at the moment the main course being whether sexually confused men can power their noses in the ladies' room. The reward of their ownership of the media is the ability to control the narrative, and it makes them lazy and arrogant. And ripe for a fall.

Donald Trump’s statement that, “if the Russians do have Hillary’s 33,000 deleted emails, they should release them” is absolutely brilliant. It really puts the Democrats in a box. On the one hand, Democrats have insisted all along that the Russians never hacked Hillary’s private email server. On the other hand, if they start blasting Trump for suggesting that the Russians release her emails, they will be conceding that the Russians did, in fact, hack Hillary’s server. They would be admitting that Hillary’s use of a private, non-secure email server has enabled Russia to obtain sensitive national security information, something they’ve maintained never happened.

Trump is playing Grandmaster-level chess. Hillary Clinton's campaign is playing tiddlywinks.

We may actually see the biggest Presidential blowout since 1980 because Americans now realize the Clintons are corrupt at a level Richard Nixon--let alone William M. "Boss" Tweed--could never contemplate!

"So the government is sending money to where? The colleges." He says, "It's a secret program to get money to the colleges, government money to the universities and to use the students as the conduits via the student loan program." He's exactly right, and that's why tuitions don't come down is because liberals own the universities. The people that work there need to be paid and paid handsomely. It's like the Democrat Party's arrangement with labor unions is a money-laundering operation of sorts.

I came to this conclusion a long time ago! The more I listen to Trump the more I am impressed!

I am thinking that, as soon as the Demonrat convention is over and Hillary has it locked down, Trump will say “It is a shame that the DNC stole the primary from Bernie but I am relieved because Bernie would have been much harder to beat.”

It would diminish Hillary and further enrage the Bern-bots.

Bernie is wrong 90% of the time, but he at least has personal honor.

Reminds me of the classic scene in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Butch Cassidy: No, no, not yet. Not until me and Harvey get the rules straightened out.
Harvey Logan: Rules? In a knife fight? No rules!
[Butch immediately kicks Harvey in the groin]
Butch Cassidy: Well, if there aint’ going to be any rules, let’s get the fight started. Someone count. 1,2,3 go.
Sundance Kid: [quickly] 1,2,3, go!
[Butch knocks Harvey out]

Here's the conversation:

Trump: Hillary's missing emails are an important issue.

Media: We don't care if she deleted them. We don't care if they were classified, or if she used her office to enrich herself. We don't care if she put our National Security at risk. We don't care if she put the lives of Americans, or their allies at risk. We don't care if the FBI won't prosecute.

Trump: Maybe Russia can find those missing emails.

Media: How can you say such a terrible thing?

Many on this forum slammed Rush during the primary season for “endorsing” Cruz (which Rush never did - he just pointed out when Cruz articulated conservative principles).

What can they say now? Rush is hurling truckloads of bouquets at Trump.

Wonderful stuff.

Actually the Clinton campaign in 1992 broke the tradition.

Clinton also broke the tradition that ex presidents retired quietly to write their memoirs. Instead Clinton remained very actively involved in Democrat party politics. Trump has every right to break with tradition. He's playing for keeps.

No one cares about the missing emails. Even crazy Bernie said he didn’t care. So Trump suggests that maybe Russia can find them. Media has a collective pants wetting.
