Follow the money. Black Lives Matter was never really about protesting whatever drug dealer, robber or petty criminal was the latest to die in another violent confrontation with the police. Its founders, left-wing gay activists with a professional interest in community organizing, had little in common with the inner city criminals that they claimed to care about. Michael Brown or Freddie Gray were only their means to an end.

The slave dreams not of freedom, but of being master.
Any reparations should be paid by the families that benefitted from slavery. The descendants of the Yankee slave traders and the southern slave owners should have to pay reparations to Blacks who are direct descendants from those slaves. Those who came to the US after the Civil War should have no claim to reparations or no obligation to pay reparations in this matter. Just because one is Black doesn’t mean he is entitled to any reparations for slavery.
I don’t own, nor have I ever owned any slaves.

I would happily pay reparation to ANY black slave who was around before the civil war and is still living. The rest of the BLM crowd are nothing but your typical street rat “takers” who have never been “slaves” or more than likely never held a real job either.
Once the blackmail starts it sill never end. Offer a one way ticket to Liberia for those interested.
When the Civil War started no Republicans owned slaves - they were all owned by Democrats. And, Blacks had slaves as well. So, reparations should come ONLY from Democrats and Blacks.

Even considering the impossible thought of someone from that era still being alive and worthy of reparations is absurd. The idea of even giving this mindless crap any consideration is insane in itself.
They don’t do this out of legitimacy; they do this out of a continuance of the successes they’ve had in convincing liberals they are actually ‘aggrieved’. It is total bullsh!t.

You want reparations for slavery? Get money from the Sfrican tribes that captured other blacks and sold them to the muslim slave traders that brought them to America. After you get that money we will give you a bill for the Civil War.
Nor have any of my ancestors. If they want reparations, I want a couple generations of owning a few first. That would be "justice."
If you want to restore the concept of “tainted blood” in the justice system, how about holding families accountable for crimes committed by their children?
And do descendants of those who fought on the North side in the Civil War get some kind of exemption?

On a related note, perhaps we *should* pay reparations for slavery to those who can prove they were descended from slaves. However, in order to get the payment, they would need to leave the US forever and return to Africa with their money. Neither they nor any other member of that family could ever return - we wouldn’t want them filing duplicate claims, after all.
Might be cheaper than welfare, taxpayer-footed hospital bills and all the shootings we’re getting now from the same people.
Ain’t that the truth.
