Not even a fight.

****************

I think that Texas has fought the case. Maybe you have other info?

The law:

Senate Bill 14 requires voters to present one of seven forms of photo ID at the polls:
a Texas driver’s license, state personal identification card, state license to carry a
handgun, U.S. military identification card, U.S. citizenship certificate, U.S.
passport or Texas Election Identification Certificate. The law is considered the
nation’s strictest because the list of acceptable IDs is narrower than any other state’s.

And I’m always being told Texas is perfect. Huh.

Texas IS perfect, it is the people in Texas that are the problem.

"Right. Because they never have to show ID to cash their [unconstitutional] government check."

There! Fixed it. And I agree.

If you’re talking about welfare-type federal checks, and politically correct interpretations of the General Welfare Clause (1.8.1) aside, the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to tax and spend for vote-winning welfare purposes.

They are going to allow people who hate us and are not from here to vote in a government which will throw us out and give them all of our possessions.

Zathras: "You need an ID to get:
A Bank account
A Drivers License
Rent an apartment
Board a airplane
Get a credit card
Check out a book from the library
Work for a Justice or a Law Firm
File your taxes

You need ID to get into the Democratic National Convention !

It seems as if this article is all headline. There is no substance in this article, and not any that has anything to do with democrats being able to take Texas through cheating, which is what the headline implies.

Texas is not perfect. It allows unchecked immigration, complete Mexican takeover of EBT, free medical care, scholarships, advancements, jobs and, in the case of San Antonio, for one, complete cities.

They might hope it goes Hillary, but not yet.

Normally rules are not changed during the contest.

Courts are erecting barriers to a sound and secure ballot - which we have a right to.

ID is free, the only people who can not obtain one are foreigners. Ignore the dictators.

It’s been over 2 decades now (in my state). Instead of helping minorities to buy alcohol & cigarettes, and fly on a plane, and drive, and many other things us in “the majority” take for granted (since we can get IDs), the dems have been focusing on making our elections less secure.

In 2 decades with all the money that’s been spent in court and ads, I’m pretty sure the Ds could have helped every minority in the state to get multiple valid IDs. And still have money for education since the latest argument is that “minorities are too stupid to know what ID is required for voting” (shows what Ds really think of minorities, but given the rate they still vote D, maybe the Ds are right)

If I didn’t know better I’d think that “helping minorities” is not really what the Ds are trying to do. /s

Plus we need to vote dozens of times like they do.

It's such an extremely difficult crime to detect, as evidenced by the very few actual convictions, it's worth a try. Go for it.

"...the U.S. Justice Department and minority rights groups...said that 600,000 voters would otherwise lack a suitable ID to cast a ballot this fall."

Pure B.S. Until, and only until, a specific individual, not some theoretical group, shows unredressible HARM from this law, such a case should go nowhere. And, to my knowledge, not one individual has been identified.

There needs to be a class action suit for the now vast disenfranchised in America who are having their votes be nullified by illegal unverified votes! This is so crazy as to not be believed. There should be no photo ID required for any protection reasons if the protection of our votes and integrity of the process no longer merits verification!!!

Well I live in Texas so I guess when I go to vote I will leave my ID card at home along with my registration card no need to overload my pockets with useless identification.

Smart tactics at this point. Some is better than none. If TX fights now they stand a strong chance of the SC kicking out the whole thing in time for the election. Preserve what you can for now and wait to fight when you know Trump’s SC cavalry are coming.
