The common orb weaver is green, but the golden orb weaver is yellow. I saw a beautiful one on a hike with Cub Scouts recently, but she had built a hidey-hole (a bent leaf) into her web and hurried into it when she sensed the Cubs.

Doesn’t ring a bell for me. We often get wolf spiders walking through the house, and various kinds that make webs in corners of the ceiling.

The venomous ones are in the garage.

These seemed to be indoor pets. They liked the seams between wall and ceiling.

Well Crustaceans are in the arthropod class.

I suspect there are plenty of crabs, and lobsters found in wealth neighborhoods. Suspect not so many rolly pollies

We used to live in a house with high ceilings, and I swear I could hear the spiders laughing at me when I was up late at night with the babies. “You can’t reach us!”

LOL!

I wonder, though, if they even notice us, unless we harass them. The broom sweeping them down must just seem like an out-of-the-blue meteor suddenly bearing down upon their world ;-)

He might end up being like my brother who would only clean under protest at home but once he moved out became a neat freak.

He read me the riot act about not using a coaster on his coffee table. I told him when he had something besides plywood and concrete blocks I would use a coaster.

Bill is incredibly particular about his clothes, which are 100% his own responsibility, but a slob around the kitchen and bathroom. I suspect that when he’s on his own, he’ll have a pretty high standard for everything, especially if he has an episode of roaches in the kitchen or an ant infestation.

If he moves in with friends in a house, though, it’s anybody’s guess. I can see them all trying to wait each other out to see who gets grossed out enough to clean first.

yes, just an ordinary flashlight.

I’m not certain about the current crop of LED lights but I think one would work ok

Place the light between your eyes on your forehead and slowly scan

I’m pretty sure you will see the green jewel of a spider
