Durbin to Jim Robinson
Trump’s an embarrassment. I think I’ll sit this one out.

"The only person I listen to any more."

Should read:

"The only person listening to Levin any more."

There - fixed.

Has he FINALLY came out to support the ONLY CANDIATE who can oppose defeat Hillary? Or he STILL mired in the idiocy of “free trade” which involves unfavorable trade deals, lost American jobs and manufacturing, a decreasing middle class and an ever growing minority of a minority of international uber-rich corporate gangsters?

I’m voting for the guy but remind me again how tarrifs create jobs exactly when there are over 16,000 today? So the government gets to pick the winners and losers in the marketplace? Please share what precise product we will impose tarrifs on and against which country? Additionally share the number of jobs said tarrifs would produce (the importation of x number from said country to the creation of ours).

Government regulations and corporate tax rates are what’s killing jobs here, certainly not the lack of government imposed tarrifs. But hey it’s a movement and tarrifs sound so cool

The USA may have tariffs on the books but tariffs collect less than 1% on the dollar of imported goods. Free Traders ought to try and tel the truth sometimes. It would be refreshing.

Oh yeah and Smoot Hawley had nothing to do with the Depression. Look it up in historical texts.

HokieMom: I do too. Sadly, much of what Jones has said has come true...Example Chimeras...I thought he was nuts...Well, last week on PBS and Drudge, NIH is allowing research on them. Unbelievable, but True. Oh and as a Trump supporter, I have found that Jones “gets it”—the idea that the election is about more than liberal versus conservative. It is about Global Tyranny versus National Sovereignty and Liberty. He has good guests too.

Durbin: So you only listen to Levin?!?! Hmm well that may be OK as you may not be a Trump supporter, in which case listening to Levin suits you.

Here is a link showing the rankings for first and second quarter...Levin has dropped...

Can you provide link for Levin stating he will vote for Trump? A recent one? He is so nasty on his radio show towards Trump...And I have only heard that he won’t and that he is watching and evaluating...

I don’t know about that but I did hear Levin supporting the reelection of AWOL Lyin’ Ted Cruz tonight. I could only listen for a minute. Nauseating.

You’re seriously trying to compare the economy of today with that of the Great Depression era? The Great Depression economy is a microcosm against the complexities, options, choices of today’s. Further to that far more competition, speed at which to acquire and let’s not forget the stock market and its complexities.

Tarrifs are job killers today

He probably picked up a few Hillary supporters when most of us dropped him. His current listeners will be more inclined to give her their vote.

Free traders ought to tell the truth? Ok let’s play this out then shall we? Ok let’s say I’m king and I want to say hmmmm let’s penalize cotton. Ya that’s right cotton tarrifs on all.

Cost to import goes up to manufacturer who thereby passes it to the shipper who in turn passes it to the business abroad who in turn passes it to truck business where that money goes into the government coffers. Who in the end absorbs that cost? Yup you got it....the consumer!!! Oh and by the way I used just simple cotton which then propagates cost across hundreds of thousands of products.

Where do jobs get lost? The ones large enough to sustain a loss in consumer base for their product. Let’s say 100 companies only use that cotton and 20 are able to weather the loss in revenue. That’s 80 that go belly up along with their supply chains, those to Truck drivers yada yada yada....But hey I’m just one of those evil free traders

You do know Levin has stated he IS voting for Trump. Right?

No, do you have a link and was it an endorsement or a craftily worded non-endorsement like "vote your conscience?"

I distrust Levin completely. I think this is damage control: If Trump loses, then he will say it isn’t his fault, because he supported the candidate.
