While this news, unsubstantiated, concerns me as much as many of you, I believe that the perps need to be identified and confirmed. This very well could have been a prank or an effort to cause problems. In other words we need to be certain that these really were Muslims and not someone posing as them. I know this will upset many folks here.

I will simply point out that you are using the the false dichotomy of the Left: If there is even a remote chance it is a conservative white American rather than, say, a Middle-Eastern swarthy Muslim, the we must err on the side of the Muslims.
How often has such an act been perpetrated by a right-wing hoaxer? How often has such an act been perpetrated by a Islamic Jihadist. (There have been over 27,000 Islamic terrorist acts since 9/11/2001. I don’t have a tally handy of the number of hoaxes in that time frame, but I’m pretty sure it is somewhat less than 27,000.)
The rational response is to assume it is the latter - not the former - until any contradictory evidence surfaces.
I suggest you be objectively rational, not politically correct (which is, after all, communist propaganda).
