So a week later after all his events, he returns home.
I’d hardly connect him going home to some punitive action. Sure, they all go home at some point. It was simply his time to go.
No news here... silly.
He wasn’t going to win anything - this way he goes home a hero, and will still be talking trash about it when he is old.
