It might come as a shock to many to learn that hundreds of descendants of King David are alive...

Many probably, but God will set Christ Jesus on the throne of Israel as King of both Israel and of the earth after His 7 year tribulation of wrath on all who hate Jesus to bring in His Kingdom of Heaven for 1000 years, as the Scriptures teach all who believe and read His Word.

Descendants of signers of the Magna Carta are also descendants. There are a billion people in the world who descend from Charlemagne. There are even more who descend from King David, which just puts more meat into the fact that he was a real human being with real faults and virtues.
Two things in this article jumped out at me;

So what does that mean? Literal generations, like each one about 70 years? 6230 years ago?
Generations are usually computed at 20-25 years. Thus 89 would be 1780 - 2225 years ago. But King David lived at about 1000 BC or about 3000 years ago. Thus the generations are being reckoned at 33 years here.

There are certainly more Syrian Jews in Deal, New Jersey than in Aleppo - and those are just the ones on vacation from Brooklyn.
Re: the number of descendants of King David - the figure of “hundreds” only refers to the number who can prove it via their family trees. After 90 or so generations, Jews being scattered across the Mideast and Europe, and across the world over the last few hundred years, and adding in intermarriage and conversions, I’d venture to say that there must be at least a million, and possibly tens or hundreds of millions. Over that length of time, a very tiny change in the number of children per family would result in VERY large numbers.
