Environmentalist: Climate Change Is World War III

"World War III is well and truly underway," said Bill McKibben, founder of the climate activist group 350.org. "And we are losing."

"We're used to war as metaphor: the war on poverty, the war on drugs, the war on cancer," he said in an op-ed published in this week's New Republic magazine. "But this is no metaphor. By most of the ways we measure wars, climate change is the real deal: Carbon and methane are seizing physical territory, sowing havoc and panic, racking up casualties and even destabilizing governments."

[…]

McKibben also has been piling increased pressure on Republicans in Senate races to resist Trump or face disaster in November.

On Thursday, 350.org activists wearing Trump masks ran alongside Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., who is in a tough re-election battle against the state's Democratic goveror, at a 5K road race in Manchester to confront her support for the Republican presidential nominee. "By supporting Trump, she's supporting racism, climate denial and violence. Voters need to reject Trump and reject Ayotte," the group's state director said.

Like Don Quixote tilting at windmills, which he imagines to be some kind of giant, the foe is engaged, and the laws of physics being what they are, the lance becomes entangled in the vane of the windmill, hoisting Don Quixote high into the air and dashing him to the ground.

Dazed but undaunted, Don Quixote explains that the same enchantment that turned the windmills into giants has then turned the giants back into windmills, and as he is carried from the “field of honor”, he firmly believes he has done a good and worthy thing.

Never mind that he is crazier than an outhouse rat.

Is that like the war on heart disease?

World War III ended in 1989, with the fall of the Berlin Wall and collapse of the Soviet Union.

World War IV is the current Muslim Jihad that most in the West pretends does not exist.

Climate Change is just another distraction/power grab by the same socialist ideologies that gave you World Wars II - IV.

“If true, the only way to end this “Climate Change WWIII” is for all environmentalists to surrender and jump into the nearest active volcano to appease Mother Gaia.”

Very true, and since the “overpopulation of Mother Earth” is the principle corrollary to GW, we need to reduce our population! On that score, since it’s their belief, I will only say “you first!” I wil be only too happy to come watch any “volcano jumping.”

So how do the Greens propose that we go after China and India, to shut down their coal burning, to save the climate?

That’s where the carbon load is.

Also, they can go after Brazil and stop them from clearing their CO2 absorbing trees. Indonesia too.

Someone please tell this “guy” to take “his” meds.

Puh-leeze! The whole “climate change” or “global warming” thing is a freaking HOAX! It is intended to wring money out of the government and private industry, and is simply another means of Communists seizing control of the private sector. These buffoons are not called “watermelons” for nothing - green on the outside, red on the inside is nail-on-the-head accurate.

Sometimes, I honestly can't tell the difference between nutjobs like these--are they trying to scare us enough to enact heavy new taxes and regulations, or do they seriously want to shut down all forms of industry...all forms of civilization? Would they prefer us to live (or not live) in primitive dwellings, our only function in life being to scavenge for food? Would they rather we do away with electricity, do away with modern conveniences like medicine, communications, or commerce?

I can never tell sometimes.

Yes. It IS a war to them, which means any lies, propaganda, untruths, incivility, injustice, or violence is excusable and justified in their minds. They don’t care what eggs have to be broken to make their Marxist omelettes.

I despise liberalism and its acolytes.

McKibben gives several good examples but he omits the one example that is the favorite of Freepers and republicans:

"Obama's War on Coal"

And it has gone beyond the use of "war" as a metaphor.

Now they use terms associated with war as metaphors.

"Rain Bombs" is now being used to describe the ultra heavy rain storms that have been occurring world wide and more frequently.

Another is: Global Warming is "weaponizing the atmosphere" or "weaponizing the weather" or "weaponizing the climate"

Got it. Only, shouldn’t you have put an “X” on each of them since they’re dying due to glow-bull warming? ;-)

And do away with lawn mowers too. And BBQ grills.

If the whacko environmentalists had their way, you wouldn't have a lawn to mow...to many chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, etc. You couldn't water it either, because we'd all be in a situation like California is now, with millions of gallons of the Colorado flowing into your state, but the government would be "managing" it.

No one would have lawns anyway--if they did "allow" us to live in a shelter, it would be in a 20-story apartment complex, with family upon family living on top of one another in a 700-square foot flat. Less "footprint" upon the land.

And BBQ's? Meat would be made some prohibitively expensive that cattle farmers would go out of business. You couldn't hunt, because that "hurts" the animals, and they wouldn't allow you to have guns or weapons.

I suppose you could grill asparagus, zuchinni or squash...if you could get your hands on some asparagus, zuchinni or squash. And some charcoal. And a grill. Perhaps you could grill potatoes on a George Foreman electric griddle?
