Good Lord! Cop says Red Cross told him not to pray with flood victims

A law enforcement officer said he was asked to leave a Red Cross shelter in Lafayette, Louisiana after he prayed with several flood victims.

Clay Higgins, a reserve city marshal and a local legend, dropped by after work to minister to evacuees at the Heymann Performing Arts Center on Aug. 19.

"I was not proselytizing," he told me. "I was just there to thank volunteers and offer prayers and encouragement."

Higgins, who is also running for Congress, was dressed in uniform and was holding a Bible.

At some point during the visit a volunteer approached Higgins and mentioned there was a problem.

"He said the Red Cross had an issue with me being there," Higgins said. "So I asked him what the problem was. He looked down at my Bible and he gestured and said, 'They have a problem with that.'"

Higgins said he was escorted to a Red Cross supervisor who asked him to leave.

"I was told that the Red Cross does not allow spiritual counseling in their shelters," he said. "The supervisor told me the Red Cross is not a religious-based organization and they don't allow religious interaction with the residents."

Red Cross should change it's name.

Samaritan's Purse = way better organization that actually spends the money sent to them where you want it to go. https://www.samaritanspurse.org/

When my father got home from World War II, the Red Cross in San Francisco charged him for a donut and coffee. He never gave them a thing after that.

To get like this in Louisiana, or any substantial part of the bible belt, is asking for the wrath of God.

The Red Cross bills for every blanket, meal, article of clothing, or bottle of water they hand out. It’s not a charity.

If it’s a commercial activity, why doesn’t it present itself that way. Redcross Mart or something like that. Of course if it did, all the disguise would be gone.

A blip on the radio said that the red Cross is now demanding everything sent to the LA flood area needs to be tested for the Zeka virus?

How the bloody hell can you catch a mosquito-born virus by shipping something (NON-Mosquito’ed food or clothing and supplies?) INTO a flood area with little Zeka in it already?

Are they worried that Miami’s Little Hatti community is going to be FedExing mosquitoes that direction?

Exactly the same from my dad in Korea. He was a really liberal guy in most things. But the Red Cross made him so angry he couldn’t even talk about it, beyond telling us to never, ever give them a dime. He was a huge Salvation Army and Chapel of the four chaplains guy. Very generous to any worthy charity. The Red Cross ain’t one of them. It’s a bullpen and turnout farm for political leaches.

Bet they wouldn’t stop someone from rolling out their prayer rug and bowing towards Mecca.

The ‘red’ in Red Cross reflects their communist ways it seems.

Just wait until the next time they come to me hat in hand.

They don’t want people to send stuff . They want you to give them millions so that they can do what they did in Haiti .
(I think they built a handful of houses from the millions they collected )

If you want to give Samaritans Purse spends the money where you want them to. And they actually do more than pass out blankets and coffee.

The Zika virus testing antigen has been patented by some politicians daughter working for some big pharma outfit.

She'll make billions in mandated government regulations. Exclusive prices and distribution.

I mean don't we already know what this American body politic is doing before they do it anymore? Sheesh!

Agree to leave, but only if they identify exactly who and why they complained. These types always want to stay anonymous

My SIL’s grandmother was a Brigadier in the Salvation Army.
I think they are a much more reputable org for disaster relief.
