NFL’s Kaepernick says he’s standing up for the oppressed by sitting during anthem

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Colin Kaepernick did not stand during the national anthem Friday because he refused to “show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” he told the NFL Network’s Steve Wyche after the game.

“To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way,” Kaepernick said. “There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has been outspoken on his Twitter and Instagram account about racial issues, including the Black Lives Matter movement, over the last eight months. His most recent retweet on Friday was of a New York Daily News story about Arizona teens who were told to remove Black Lives Matter shirts. The movement began in 2013 to protest violence against black Americans, especially at the hands of law enforcement....

Sometime around the mid sixties I saw one of Obama’s sons score a touchdown and he did some vulgar dance in the end zone and I just about puked. First time I had ever seen something like that.

To this day I have never attended a football game or watched one on TV. Same for basketball.

About the only sports I have any interest in are golf, nascar, the shooting sports, rifle or archery, and boat racing.

The same reasoning behind many teams who don’t actually play i the cities they are named for. Such as:

Washington Redskins play in suburban Maryland
Buffalo Bills play in suburban Buffalo
New York Giants and Jets play in New Jersey
Dallas Cowboys play in a suburb between Dallas and Ft. Worth
Miami Dolphins play in a suburb of Miami
Atlanta Braves move next year to a suburban stadium

I’m sure there are some other teams which have their city name but don’t play within the city limits of the city.

I’ve been to Africa...several times. That includes a visit earlier this year.Of course that doesn’t make me an expert but I couldn’t help but notice that the “typical” black person living in black ruled countries are far, far, far more oppressed than anyone here. That “typical” black African would sell his/her soul to experience the “oppression” that Kaepernick’s referring to and, once here,he/she would, through damn hard work,be a much more respectable person than Trayvon,The “Gentle Giant” or any of the other punks we’ve read about recently.

The only professional football game I ever attended was Superbowl VII when the Dolphins won every game and the championship.

{ FF through the commercials and the random cretin who won’t stand for the National Anthem. }

LOL Excellent. I’m still laughing.

Free Republic can often be funnier and more entertaining than the NFL Nat’l Freak Show.

Colin’s just cranky because his father didn’t bother to leave a tip after the 5 minutes he spent with Colin’s mother.

I wouldn’t call Santa Clara “suburban” San Francisco. Not only is it a considerable distance away, but the culture is totally different.

Nah. Just let China or the radical islamists set off dirty nukes off the coasts of San Diego, Los Angeles, and the Gay Area via remote controlled mini-submarines, and that should take care of America's problems.

Well, that would be a start. But don't forget the East Coast.Hopefully someone will give me some warning before they hit Massachusetts so I can head to Kansas beforehand.

I wonder if Kapernak could name one African country that’s been better to black people than America.

Well, I guess the team didn’t want to sever their link to San Francisco, however tenuous that link is now.

“His white mother got pregnant by a father who was a black guy that ran off and left him before he was born.”

Maybe this retarded douchebag should direct his anger at his typical black “father”

Kaepernick was born November 3, 1987 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Heidi Russo, a 19-year-old woman who was single and destitute at the time. His birth father, an African American, was out of the picture before he was born. Russo placed her son for adoption with Rick and Teresa Kaepernick, a white couple. He lived in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, until age four, and attended grade school in Turlock, California.

If it wasn’t for the white people that adopted him, he probably wouldn’t have ever made it to the NFL. The president of his country that “oppresses black people” is a privileged Kenyan, who like Kaepernick, was also bi-racial, abandoned by his black bigamist father, and later raised by his white grandparents!
