Time Magazine: Hillary Clinton’s Reaction to Her Foundation Scandal Is Disastrous
Time ^ | Aug. 25, 2016 | Elise Jordan @Elise_Jordan

As I watch Hillary Clinton wish away the fallout of the Clinton Foundation’s unseemly ties with the State Department during her tenure as Secretary of State, I can’t help but think that her self-inflicted wound just bleeds and bleeds and bleeds. Every day that she fails to seriously address the rotten consequences of her poor judgment, Clinton further erodes the already lacking public trust in her. By avoiding a sincere display of contrition, she risks her candidacy and the foundation her family built.

The numbers on the alleged pay-to-play are damning: as reported by the Associated Press, of 154 non-official meetings or phone calls on her schedule as Secretary of State, at least 85 of those individuals were private-sector donors who contributed up to $156 million to Clinton Foundation initiatives.

Perhaps the worst example was when investors who profited from the Clinton State Department’s approval of a deal for Russia’s atomic energy agency’s acquisition of a fifth of America’s uranium mining rights subsequently pumped money into the Clinton Foundation. The Clintons subsequently did not fulfill the Obama administration’s request for public disclosure of foreign donations.

The public deserves to hear from Clinton an honest explanation of why she felt all of this was appropriate.

When it comes to the Clintons, it’s not only about what happens, but how they react. The fact that Clinton has not given a press conference in 264 days is far more damaging than the seeming corruption itself.

It comes down to Clinton’s judgment, and the culture she and the former President create. Even if you give Clinton the benefit of the doubt that her staff acted on her behalf trading access in a way that’s technically above board, she created the culture that encouraged the behavior.

This is why since Trump blew 17 expert career politicians off the stage, the media ramped up and went full time 24/7 attacking Trump, even more so than was witnessed in the primaries.

It’s because Trump had no heavy luggage, no real scandals it had to be clear to the media they have to hold back the tsunami of Clinton’s foul questionable history in every direction.

This could be an indicator even the lying media is giving up on crooked Hillary. Either way, it’s Trump in a blowout.

It comes down to Clinton’s judgment,

Wrong again. It comes down to Clinton’s innumerable decisions to commit felonies against the people of the United States.

LOCK. HER. UP.

Technically above board? What the heck is that? Nothing these Gov't Grifters do is "above board".

On the contrary, the Clintons actions and involvement in this money laundering racket are the very meaning of corruption, graft and criminal activity masking itself as a charity or whatever other euphemism the fawning media labels this outfit.

As far back as Watergate this female was such a LIAR that she was dismissed from helping in anyway due to her lies and shady practices. We are talking about Hillary in her 20’s and already branded a liar in Washington DC. She is the most vile, conniving, wretched woman in America.

“I bet she has never apologized in all her life!”

Her parents need to apologize to the entire world for “creating” her!

The author clearly refuses to recognize the gravity of the very activities she listed.

As I watch Hillary Clinton wish away the fallout of the Clinton Foundation’s unseemly ties with the State Department during her tenure as Secretary of State...

Not "unseemly". Criminal. This is bribery and soliciting bribery. There is no grey area here and she was not "skirting" anything, she was flouting the law openly and shamelessly, secure in the knowledge that her political allies had complete control over every mechanism designed to constitute a check and balance, and would, (and have), lie, cheat, delay, cover up, and stonewall any attempt at law enforcement, and misrepresent, misdirect, and minimize her culpability. This is conspiracy.

The numbers on the alleged pay-to-play are damning: as reported by the Associated Press, of 154 non-official meetings or phone calls on her schedule as Secretary of State, at least 85 of those individuals were private-sector donors who contributed up to $156 million to Clinton Foundation initiatives.

Bad enough, and certainly criminal influence peddling, but there's more.

Historians will immediately recognize the former as uncannily reminiscent of the Harding administration (cursed by history as one of the most corrupt ever) and its Teapot Dome scandal, for which a cabinet Secretary - Albert Fall, Secretary of the Interior - was imprisoned. Bribery, influence peddling, and the systematic disappearance of evidence, it has "Hillary" written all over it:

Optics matter when the issue is transparency. How ironic that Clinton defenders were quick to attack the AP’s report as cherry-picking from an insufficient sample when the AP had to sue the State Department for access to the limited records included in their investigation.

The issue isn't transparency, nor is it "optics", it is blatant and highly lucrative criminal activity. Criminal activity - if the author cannot bring herself to say it she loses all credibility herself.

I think she’z done. Gotta say though, the first debate will be FANTASTIC for Trump. Sooo much ammo.

Hope I’m very wrong about this, but I think the format and the questions will have been cleverly devised by the anti-Trump debate masters so as to make it nearly impossible for him to deploy that arsenal of ammo.

It’s the Clinton way of dealing with critics and factual revelations of their criminality:

They just double-down on their denials.

Counter punch for all they are worth.

Bull their way through with the able support and assistance of the media.

By avoiding a sincere display of contrition, she risks her candidacy and the foundation her family built.

Let me get this straight - if I break into Chuck Todd's home and steal $100,000 worth of 'stuff' I can give three percent of the proceeds (of the crime) to poor people, keep the rest for travel, vacation, and salaries for family and friends, AND 'get forgiveness' if I just apologize?

Washington DC crooks have set a low bar for themselves...

She is reacting as she is, because any open discussion of the situation would reveal many more, much more severe, felonious problems .
