Convenience and arrangement, just like the Clintons' marriage. Both Bill and Weiner could do what they wanted with other women as long as they didn't get caught. That last part was a big problem for both of them, obviously.

And of course the reverse was true -- Hillary and Huma would be free to pursue their political goals and private dalliances.
