There is no known way that nature could create a radio signal that is above the background noise level from this distance; however, if it really is an alien source, why aren’t they modulating the signal strength to include a message. Makes no sense.

Without a detailed description of the nature of the signal itself it is hard to comment much at this stage. At a minimum I would want to know what indicates to researchers that the signal is man-made rather a signal from a natural source. Hopefully more information will come out.
