“any claim he’s got any serious support is some sort of false manipulation for ??? Purpose —???”

They need to get him past 14% to be in the debate;

and, they hope to get a couple of states to go for Hillary instead of Trump, because of a split vote; or, to go to an independent, so that the election can end up in the House.

In the House, each state gets ONE vote. So the result can be foreseen on the basis of who is now in the congress (Dems and Rhinos).

Big Lie. 10 percent gets you into the debate to oppose Trump.

#NeverTrumpers want a 3 person debate. 2 against 1.

Lie that the Green Candidate got 10% so she can debate Hillary.

10% is a number pulled out of someone’s -—, and the group agreed to look at it and present it to others.

Not buying in...

He could also be drawing votes from Hillary as well...not necessarily just Trump.

Every Johnson fan I know is an angry nevertrumper.

Same here! I have lost my respect for every one of them. And Hillary's campaign is no doubt directing or funneling money toward these losers because they are the best bet that she has of denying Trump the voters he needs in the battleground states. Her only real hope is to divide to conquer. There is no doubt that these nevertrumper “vote your conscience” types are one of the biggest challenges Trump still faces.

Johnson supporters are not one bit brighter than Hillary supporters.

All if anyone thinks the Johnson guy would pull more R than D votes—( if he got any at all) -—I think they’re wrong. His politics are quite leftist:statist and his main issue’s legal marijuana, ha.. We can all get stoned while America is sold down the river? But anyways, I think mr Trump still should refuse to accept him in any debates — because it helps Trump a lot the more the public sees Hillary

Listening to Johnson and Weld one could get the impression that most many of his voters will be Sanders people and a few other Democrats who just can’t handle the idea of a president who is almost guaranteed to not serve out a term.

This is laughable.

Here is a test.

Talk to twenty random people and ask them the open ended question with no hints: “Who is Gary Johnson”?

I doubt two out of the twenty people could answer that question correctly, must less want to vote for him.

It is ironic because Johnson is a statist and supports statist positions. He is NOT a libertarian.

Trump and Perot have the same political views.

It’s looking more and more like 1980, with Johnson playing the John Anderson role. WE’RE WINNING!!! Be of good cheer. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. If you haven’t contributed to President Trump’s campaign, do it now. He’ the man to save America from the WItch.

Same here. But Johnson / Weld have lately been looking like democrats in their public statements. Trump is the only candidate who seems likely to reign in neocon style interventions, pro-2A, pro-life (the Non-Aggression Principle actually requires that libertarians be pro-life if they accept that the unborn child is nonetheless a human being). Not particularly thrilled with his economics, but they’re better than Hillary’s cronyism.

Johnson and Weld are libertarians in the same sense that sense that Billy Graham is Muslim.

"And I think if I vote for Mr. Johnson (who seems ok, but lacks the charisma of Mr. Trump) it will hurt Trump’s chances of beating Hillary."

Gary Johnson "seems ok"? Really? Seriously? Watch this 2:28 minute video of the nutcase Johnson being interviewed and tell us you still think he "Seems OK".

I wouldn't recognize Gary Johnson if he bumped into me on the street. And I'm a political junkie.

That's why I don't think Johnson will do better than 2 per cent this election (he was 0.97% in 2012).

Last serious third party candidate was Ross Perot and he was recognized by 99% of the population. Like him or not, Perot dominated many of the news cycles when he ran in 1992 and 1996.

Ralph Nader got 2.5% in 2000 and he had high recognition as well.
