The Deplorables

On September 9th, at a Democrat fundraiser in New York City, Hillary Clinton labeled half of Donald Trump's supporters as a "basket of deplorables" made up of "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic" people. Many opinion and news commenters have called it Hillary's "47% Moment", likening her comments to Mitt Romney's comment that 47% of the population would never vote for him. They express distaste for her comments and reject her premises and conclusion.

I would like to take a different tack: I feel we should embrace her comments, and wear them with pride.

The German Kaiser Wilhem II called the British Expeditionary Force a "contemptible little army" that the Germans should "exterminate" and "walk over". Rather than being offended, the BEF instead embraced the insult, giving themselves the nickname "The Old Contemptibles". This is brilliance, and we should emulate it.

We should nickname ourselves "The Deplorables".

To answer, point by point, Hillary's specific charges:

• She accused us of being racists. Perhaps we are, since the liberal intelligensia has redefined the word "racist" to mean having any disagreement about them about absolutely any topic. Are we against the religion of Global Warming? Then we are racists. Do we want people to work instead of collect government benefits? Then we are racists. Are we pro-gun? Then we are racists. Are we advocates of Originalist interpretations of the Constitution? Then we are racists.
  

  The term "racist" has been so overused, that it no longer means what it meant even ten years ago.

• She accused us of being sexists. What is a sexist, anymore? The liberals have created 57 flavors of gender: Agender, Androgyne, Androgynous, Bigender, Cis, Cisgender, Cis Female, Cis Male, Cis Man, Cis Woman, Cisgender Female, Cisgender Male, Cisgender Man, Cisgender Woman, Female to Male, FTM, Gender Fluid, Gender Nonconforming, Gender Questioning, Gender Variant, Genderqueer, Intersex, Male to Female, MTF, Neither, Neutrois Non-binary, Other, Pangender, Trans, Trans*, Trans Female, Trans* Female ,Trans Male, Trans* Male, Trans Man, Trans* Man, Trans Person ,Trans* Person, Trans Woman, Trans* Woman, Transfeminine, Transgender, Transgender Female, Transgender Male, Transgender Man, Transgender Person, Transgender Woman, Transmasculine, Transsexual, Transsexual Female, Transsexual Male, Transsexual Man, Transsexual Person, Transsexual Woman, and Two-Spirit. Which ones are we opposed to? Are we sexist when we don't want men in women's bathrooms or showers?
  

  Liberals have so muddied the concept of gender, that 'sexist' no longer has meaning.

• She accused us of being xenophobic. Perhaps we are, if one defines xenophobia as an embrace of our country's identity and a desire to protect our borders. Globalists want to erase all national borders in order to establish a global government, better to control the masses with.
  

  Those of us who are nationalist in our political leanings, are decried as 'xenophobes'. To my mind, it is a good quality to possess.

• She accused us of being Islamophobes. It is prudent to be "phobic" of a group of people who have expressly called for our deaths and who have routinely committed acts of terror against us, and who have worked to destroy Western civilization in any way they can.
  

  Anyone with any common sense at all will naturally fear Islamics, who's radicals wish to kill us or bind us under Sharia law.

We are The Deplorables. Let us embrace the label, and wear it proudly!

We should nickname ourselves "The Deplorables".

The Kaiser is supposed to have called the tiny British Expeditionary Force in 1914 France "a contemptible little army". The survivors (not many) proudly called themselves "The Old Contemptibles".

Clinton has just given us a name to rally by.

I love Nat King Cole and fortunate enough to have most of his hits and a couple of his albums burned direct from the raw studio masters - many “dry” (before the dreaded reverb was added) and some with studio chatter that was deleted from the commercial releases.
