Wolf Blitzer Is Worried Defense Contractors Will Lose Jobs if U.S. Stops Arming Saudi Arabia
Intercept, the ^ | 09 September 2016 | Zaid Jilani, Alex Emmons

Sen. Rand Paul’s expression of opposition to a $1.1 billion U.S. arms sale to Saudi Arabia — which has been brutally bombing civilian targets in Yemen using U.S.-made weapons for more than a year now — alarmed CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Thursday afternoon.

Blitzer’s concern: That stopping the sale could result in fewer jobs for arms manufacturers.

“So for you this is a moral issue,” he told Paul during the Kentucky Republican’s appearance on CNN. “Because you know, there’s a lot of jobs at stake. Certainly if a lot of these defense contractors stop selling war planes, other sophisticated equipment to Saudi Arabia, there’s going to be a significant loss of jobs, of revenue here in the United States. That’s secondary from your standpoint?”

Paul stayed on message. “Well not only is it a moral question, its a constitutional question,” Paul said. “Our founding fathers very directly and specifically did not give the president the power to go to war. They gave it to Congress. So Congress needs to step up and this is what I’m doing.”

UFB!

I've been saying this for years and Rand Paul just drew them out. They phony anti-war, anti-death outrage from the left is belied by the protests over the "budget cuts" and even TEMPORARY cuts in INCREASES in defense spending was all about JOBS!

So, we kill people in other nations so that we have JOBS! Wolf Blitzer just laid out Clinton's economic plan

If audi Arabia falls to the whacks it won’t hurt us. We have our own oil. The rest of the world will be eating out of our hand.

I read somewhere that KSA makes up something like half of Raytheon’s foreign sales. KSA, the numero uno supporter of Islamism through the world, from jihads to European and American Muslim schools and mosques. The West is selling the rope to hang itself.

So, the democrats have no problem sending most of our jobs overseas by overtaxing and over regulating, and would willingly destroy domestic oil production, but are suddenly afraid that not selling arms to muslim countries will cost us jobs..

Ding ding, unions unions

I find it amazing that the Blitz did not mention scuds raining down on Saudi refineries protected by Patriots but chose the contractor job issue. It shows a specific mandate by liberals to not worry about a thing in terms of bad things happening, just their bottom line

Trump should play this over and over.

It is clear that the Clinton News Network is promoting Obama-Clinton economic policy ... more war, more death and destruction, more maimed children ... all so that we can have JOBS!

The foreign sales contracts I worked on were through the US Army. If for some reason the end party, usually SA or Kuwait, could not take delivery, the US Army took delivery. We got paid regardless.

Alltogether, I don’t give a rat’s pattootie if another Arab/Muslim country ever gets a weapon from us. These freaking defense contractors had damned well better start delivering on building and delivering operationally capable weapons systems to our own military.

That means an F-35 that meets the performance specs set forth in the performance based contracts that were let. That means extending the lifetimes of critical platforms like A-10s and the other work horses and stopping with all this pushing for horseshit weapons systems of the future that require all of the future’s resources to even get working. DDG-1000? Pit it in a battle with conventional Burkes and a carrier battle group and see how it shakes out.

No more ARAB/MUSLIM sales -EVER.

Refusing to sell our merchandise to a long time ally, is madness. I would suggest that you look more closely at who the Saudis are fighting; and where that enemy of the Saudi’s stands in respect to American interests. (And by the way, do you think that Russia or China would not be very happy to fill in, with sales to the market you disdain? Or for that matter the French or Swedes? Not sure about the Swedes, of course, they have a wackier Government; but Saudi money works for most countries.)

The left doesn’t care about jobs. They put 40 million Americans out of work already.

Frankly, I’m not going to buy that “ally” schtick one bit longer. We all know who supported the 19 hickers. And I won’t be a part of his madness any more. In the end these “allys” are still Muslims and that is the crux of the world’s problems right now.

They care about their high paid lobbyists jobs and crony pay for play and their revolving ‘ musical chairmen’ of various big corporations and ‘charities’.

Saudi-Arabia has been the real target Al Qaida for decades. Would you really want to see the Saudi monarchy overthrown for something like the present Government of Iran? And lose billions of dollars of their business in the process?

Do not confuse the Saudi Government with religious extremists in their country. They have a delicate balance between factions. But a fall of the Monarchy would be a serious blow to our interests--as well as those of our remaining allies.

You can equivocate all you want about lesser or more evil Muslims; I will not any further. Standing up for Saudi means standing up for Royal Hegemony still under the taint of Islam but perhaps more far thinking in their deceit. They need western power to keep control and our soldiers die everywhere because of it. I am not in favor of sacrificing one more American life to futher a dictatorial control of a regime that will eventually turn on us anyway.

We differ on this and I accept it but I’m not going to banter about with you about the niceties any more.

Long time ally...lol. They are an enemy and use us so their brand of Islam keeps the upper hand. They are behind 9/11, Boston, Syria. Almost every single mosque in America is Saudi funded Wahabbist. They bribe our leaders. They beat people for blogging. They keep Christianity illegal. They have no voting rights. Women need permission to travel and may not drive. Homos are executed.

That’s some “ally”.

Explain the benefits of a Saudi government vs an Iranian one? I want to hear this logic.
