Senator Ted Cruz took to Twitter today to slam the recent spate of spoiled athletes, like San Francisco 49ers backup QB Colin Kaepernick, who have disrespected our flag and National Anthem.

After former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Jalen Rose tweeted, “Salute to all @Nfl players & teams that peacefully did protests for change. #standfornothingfallforanything,” Cruz went off and called for a boycott of the “rich spoiled athletes.”

Great minds think alike:

"Ted Who?" Was the very first thing I thought of.

He has destroyed his political career by his own actions and revealed himself for who and what he really is.

And to think, millions of Americans like me once respected him, but no longer.

You are frothing at the mouth.
Used to be conservatives were a bit more reflective instead of knee jerk.
Now we seem to be beating each other up with various ‘purity tests’.
Vulgar twits bore me.

I wonder how you would respond if someone peed in your corn flakes.

I doubt you would endorse them for dawg catcher.

Well, if you are a person of integrity, then you would not doubt, because people of integrity do what they say they will do...Their word is their bond. There is no out, no doubt.

CRUZ ACTUALLY SAID PUBLICLY MORE THAN ONCE THAT HE WOULD HONOR HIS WORD...BUT THAT IS WHEN HE THOUGHT HE WOULD BE THE NOMINEE.

IF I gave MY WORD verbally or CONTRACTUALLY LIKE CRUZ VOLUNTARILY DID, I would HONOR MY WORD. PERIOD. HONESTLY, I would do it regardless of my ‘FEELINGS’ if I could help the future of the country! Wouldn’t you?!?!? Eh maybe not...

It is TRUMP or HILLARY in 2016. PERIOD...You know what? I truly wish I was some important media personality politician who has an opportunity to influence hundreds or thousands of voters...for the good of the Country by stopping Hillary! As it is, I am doing what I can as little fly-over-country me.

As a born-again-Christian which Cruz is???, keeping your word reflects upon Christ...Christians are commanded to do so...Cruz gave his WORD, made pledge as well as A CONTRACTUAL DATA EXCHANGE AGREEMENT...

Cruz’s word and the agreement was never contingent on Trump’s behavior—None the renegers said they only would honor the nominee as long as the nominee was not Trump or as long as the nominee was “nice.” They all agreed to HONOR THE NOMINEE. PERIOD.

I don’t care if Trump had taken a dump and a pee in Cruz cornflakes~ CRUX gave his WORD and said he would honor it publically numerous times...then he RENEGED ON IT. AND HE STILL DOES NOTHING TO STOP HILLARY...SEEMS HE WANTS HILLARY TO WIN.

You know what, I have had to deal with people who have insulted and disrespected me and hurt my feelings, which qualifies as peeing in my cornflakes (really that is your example?!?!) etc...

As a person of my word, I have sucked it up and done what I have agreed to do and not always happily, but I have done it—It is called integrity.

But you think it is perfectly OK for Cruz to back out...Suit yourself...

Clearly Cruz word does not mean as much as mine, and Sadly perhaps your word does not mean as much as mine either.

Seriously? Nobody cares what you think.

I’m supporting Trump now 100%. At the same time I understand why Cruz has a chip on his shoulder. And so far has withheld his endorsement.

Most people with a brain would understand that.

Seriously? You don’t think I am actually writing to convince you do you? No it is more for the people who lurk and actually have a brain. I don’t think it is right or appropriate that people who claim to be supporting Trump think it is OK for Cruz to be a reneger! You, papa are an outlier.

Oh and People who honor their vows and pledges do care and understand what I am saying...They are called the majority of Trump supporters. I was on the Trump train before there even was a train. Can that be said for you? Doubt it.

Bottom line, if you support Cruz reneging his vows and supporting Hillary, then you really are not supporting Trump 100%.

Cruz should have supported Trump...Most people, people supporting Trump 100%, people with a brain and integrity understand that.

I agree. Cruz blew it big time and lost cred when he refused to honor the pledge to support the nominee. I would have a hard time voting get for him for senator if I lived in Texas. But the continuous bashing doesn’t help anyone.. this is a great article and what Cruz said in it should be magnified, not denigrated

Interesting comment...I am not bashing Cruz for taking a stand on Kapernick tho I do think he his flitting around from issue to issue to pick up votes...while ignoring the more important issue of Hillary in the White House.

Actually, I just posted an article last week about Cruz leading the charge to fight against Obama giving away the Internet to the UN at the end of September. I am glad he is/was doing something.

Surprisingly, even on an internet forum, the Internet giveaway to the UN is an issue that no one really seems to care about—I said I appreciated Cruz stand on it—and would appreciate anyone heading the charge...Many posters bashed the article, Ted Cruz, and me for posting it.

I hope Cruz has some success with the Internet giveaway fight...I just think if he REALLY CARES ABOUT THE COUNTRY, HE WILL HONOR HIS VOW AND GET OFF HIS DUFF AND FIGHT HILLARY GETTING IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

Here is article I posted—I pray people are contacting their representatives and Senators about the UN Internet Giveaway...It is ominous!

I’ll be more interested in what Ted Cruz has to say AFTER I hear him enthusiastically endorse and support Donald Trump. Until then, he’s not worth listening to.

Cruz has done more damage to the American people than a million Kaepernicks ever could.

I’m not even in Texas and I already have a donation reserved for whoever can establish himself as most likely to take Cruz out.

And I’ll donate again to a Democrat in the general again to make that happen, if necessary.

You simply can’t take a traitor back into your camp - it’s suicide.

Cruz has an ACU rating hovering around 100% and you’re willing to donate money to his democrat opponent?

A democrat who will oppose Trump on nearly every issue and support funding for Planned Parenthood?

Born here of citizen parents.

Cruz was born in Canada to a Cuban father, there is no way he is a natural born citizen.

And Cruz refuses to vote for Trump hoping he’ll lose. That will result in Hillary putting Planned Parenthood on steroids.
Cruz better hurry up and give the deplorables a reason to support him. He needs to honor his pledge and endorse the Republican nominees.

Yep. When the chips were down, Cruz went with Team Hillary.

An example must be made.

Cruz went off and called for a boycott of the “rich spoiled athletes.”

Those athletes pay their own way.

They don't suck up, beg and grovel to get free vacations, like senators sometimes do.

Ted Cruz accepted $30,000 flight to Cayman Islands

You go boy, Vote against Cruz. And then when Texans puts in a democrat and the GOP loses a seat you can proudly state that you made a statement. One has to admire your stance.

Hey, both he and his fans deserve it. They earned it but good. It's waaaaay beyond so called "purity", and that's the phrase of the Cruzers, not those who can't stand him.

Explain why you don't see him as a fraud, a liar, and one who is only serving his own selfish ego by aiding and abetting Hillary and the dems.

If you can do that, maybe I won't tell you what I think about the Cruzers and their candidate again. Lets just say he is earning his only term as a senator quite well (I don't think he'll be able to win as a dog catcher now), and he's earned that the hard way, all by himself. Why you would support someone like that is beyond me. Are you a Glenn Beck fan too?
