CHELSEA, Manhattan — Multiple people were injured during an outdoor explosion in Chelsea Saturday night.
The explosion happened at 135 23rd St. between Sixth and Seventh avenues.
It was not immediately clear how many people were injured or the severity of their injuries.
The FDNY is on the scene with the NYPD.
The explosion comes after a pipe bomb exploded in Seaside Park, New Jersey near the Semper Five 5K Charity Run Route. The device was placed in a garbage can.

Thanks again. There are literally cameras EVERYWHERE in that location and others in the City. I haven’t heard if the subways are up and running again. I did hear the the FDNY found another device and called for urgent response. Don’t have any concrete info on that - checking twitters from those on scene. They got something, that’s for sure.

From all I have been seeing and hearing, it is not from construction materials which would just ignite and cause a fire. Not a boom - and nobody is working there on a Sat. night per an expert talking to Fox earlier. I believe it is an IED.

Neurologist tell us that everybody has dead space in their brains. But recent studies have shown that parts of this dead space is automatically utilized in the case of brain injury. I’m glad I have lots to spare!
