“Mike Pence just had THE campaign stop of his VP run. Pouring rain, no umbrella, protesters heard from afar, great crowd energy, revved crowd”, Vaughn Hillyard, NBC News.

Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana blew away the press Tuesday night with a high-powered performance as he spoke to and held a crowd of about 650 supporters in the pouring rain in Williamsburg, Virginia.....

Pence spoke in front of the old (replica) Capitol and was introduced by former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore who ran against nominee Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination.

The rain picked up a few minutes before Gilmore began his brief introduction of Pence.

Pence took the stage and spoke for about twenty minutes without an umbrella, occasionally looking down at his rain-soaked note cards. As Pence gets deeper into his speech, his dark suit and blue shirt get wetter and darker until he was thoroughly soaked.

Reporters covering Pence were blown away:

WOW ! People just can't get enough of either Trump or Pence. This will be (I pray for all of us) a MONSTER VOTE landslide.

Pence is a lot like Cruz in his social stances. I guess that doesn’t count against Pence, though?

Bring out your conservative children and see to it that your conservative aged relatives have absentee ballots and mail them yourself. Do not trust a nursing home to mail it.

It will be surprising how many of your friends, if you choose friends wisely, will appreciate your encouragement to support Trump. Some require the assurance that they are not the only ones attracted to his leadership. Turn out every Trump supporter you know and take them to the polls if they don’t have a way to get there. That’s how the Trump Train rolls to victory.

Cruz had a lot of good positions.

But he was an absolute jerk.

Pence is not a jerk.

Pence picked a good year to sit on the sidelines and wait things out. He never had to attack Trump. Also Cruz and Trump both have outsized egos (not always a bad thing) meaning they can’t work as well together.

If Pence follows through on those viewpoints )”stances”) without trying to proclaim himself messianic, then it’s a double-plus good thing.

“Jerk” is in the eye of the beholder much of the time.

I want a candidate to be a “jerk” to the radical left.

I was behind Cruz for years. Then all this talk about God telling his daddy he was going to be the next POTUS. That is when I began to see the unstableness creep into Cruz. The arrogance. It was fully displayed at the convention and I feel fully justified in my removal of support for Cruz.

Cruz is no Pence!

Trump’s selection of Pence is 100x better than Reagan’s selection of Bush.

Well i can think of at least one thing that Pence has and Cruz doesn’t.

Honor.

I must have missed that (and I really am asking for the sake of enlightenment here), but when did Cruz talk his God-ordained destiny for the presidency?

Seriously, I don't have a T.V. so I may have missed it.
