Islamic State forces have fired crude chemical weapons at US troops in Iraq, the Pentagon has confirmed, a startling disclosure that US officials promptly downplayed as resulting in no deaths or injuries.
The attack came from a powdered mustard agent delivered in a mortar or rocket shell and fired on US forces on Tuesday at the Qayyarah West air base near Mosul. The air base, recaptured from Isis in July, is a pivotal staging ground for a highly anticipated attack on Mosul, Isiss capital in Iraq approximately 40 miles (65km) to the north.

Mustard, a banned chemical weapon, is relatively easy to manufacture and has a low incidence of lethality in all but extreme doses, such as the bombardment that former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein used on Kurdish civilians and Iranian soldiers in the 1980s and early 1990s.

We will be patient. Enemies inside the USA insist we let enemies get stronger before we stomp on them.
That can't be right.
Didn't the media convince us that Bush lied when he said Saddam had WMD's?
Back to ISIS; did anyone even bother to try to prove that it was Assad and not the terrorists who used chemical weapons in Syria?
I know, too many questions...

Time to change the rules of engagement. Kill them all, there are no innocents there.
Yes, either declare war and fight to the death or get our military out of that rotten hellhole.
It’s a good thing there is a red line over there.
I never believed in the conspiracy theories about Obama wanting to get us into a war. But it’s getting harder and harder to dismiss that.
We cannot get rid of these clowns soon enough.
“powdered mustard agent”
I have some Chinese “powdered mustard agent” in my kitchen. You mix it with some water. Powerful stuff!
agreed, announce it, let the exodus begin, round em up, no immigration and nuke the town for all those left..
This cannot possibly be true, there are no WNDs in Iraq. We have been told this for the past 14 years.
A few whiffs of mustard gas will effect someone the rest of their life. My grandfather was gassed in the war and also had issue with his lungs.
Mustard is awful stuff. Terrible chemical burns that never heal to normal.
Several relatives crippled in WWI by it.
I’ve never heard of it in powder form though. Wonder if you breathed the dust, then moisture in your lungs activates it.
We absolutely cannot tolerate this.
