Freedom of speech died many years ago.

The Seattle Mariners is a leftwing domestic terrorist organization.

He should have taken a knee injury the anthem and explained, “How can I honor a country that let's BLM thugs destroy all property and attack innocent people on the street and the DOJ claims sympathy for the rioters”?

Basic questions,”Why were there no rioters in Tulsa?”

Or Cleveland? IMHO that was a total outrage and if I lived there, I'd have protested. But that was peaceful. Charlotte is not a "protest".

If he doesn’t sur and win for suspension without pay, then we officially live in a totalitarian country. The union better be all over that.

Celebrating thugs and terrorists is okay, but condemning them will get you in trouble.

Pro athletes do have contracts that may limit their free speech rights or other activities while they are under contract since they are representing the team and are public figures. Of course that applies to athletes on any side of a public issue.

I guess have mixed feelings on the Clevenger/Kaepernick deal. I wanted Kaepernick to be told by his team or the NFL pretty much what you said - that the team and the league do not want to be part of his or anyone else's private causes. It seems unfair that the Mariners lowered the boom on Clevenger in light of Kaepernick getting away with it. But, they saw how the Kaepernick thing has snowballed in the NFL. If teams are perceived as coming down on one side of an issue they are going to piss off some portion of their fan base. For example, it is hard impossible for me to root for a team when I watch the players disrespect the flag.

This kerfuffle sort of reminds me of another forum I hang out at called the Home Theater Forum. I have no idea if the people who run it are conservative or liberal. But what I do like is that they don't allow political comments at all. They only want the site to be about home theater. They have off-topic forums but they cannot be political. If someone puts in a political jab (usually a snarky liberal), they delete the comment and issue a warning and sometimes ban the poster. I really appreciate that approach. I had to leave the Sinatra Family Forum because it was so full of DU types from Nancy S on down through most of their membership.

What happened to ESPN’s vaunted support for “free speech”?

Only for ME, not for THEE.

The monster vote that the Democrats are fearing is a large number of white Democrats and independents voting for Trump. Why else are they putting gas to the racial fire in Charlotte. Typical Democrats just look at blacks like a herd that can be gathered together to vote as one bloc. Expect the globalists to stoke the racial fires in the Hispanic, Asian and Arab communities too. Folks, this is all they got! Trump is running on the real issues affecting this country. Hillary is just dealing the racial cards, inflaming hate everywhere. The LA Slimes had the gall to say Trump is not talking policy but Hillary has so many ideas she put it in a book! Yeah that joke of a book by Hillary and Kaine written no doubt by Huma.

His civil right to free speech is being violated. If he had only tweeted this while sitting during a national anthem.....

Actually the First Amendment only applies when it’s the government telling you to pipe down - your employer has no such restriction.

While that is a very valid point, I do not look favorably upon a business that supports unAmerican activity, and punishes for proAmerican activity.

I will mention the First Amendment in my complaint.

It is a time honored thing, citizens speaking their minds regarding issues.

If it’s talking down the business or revealing secrets, I believe the business has every right to take action.

If it’s this type of thing done on a person’s own time, the business has no business sticking it’s nose in the tent.

Only if you agree with PC can someone speak freely.

Trump has won Oklahoma, no need to riot and bring out the black vote. North Carolina is a swing state. Bring in the Soros paid thugs to get the black vote out. Disgusting
