Home schooling ripped by Obama education chief
The Washington Examiner ^ | September 23, 2016 | Paul Bedard

"I worry that in a lot of cases students who are homeschooled are not getting the kind of the breadth of instruction experience they would get in school, they're also not getting the opportunity to build relationships with peers unless their parents are very intentional about it," said Education Secretary John B. King Jr.

"And they're often not getting those relationships with teachers and mentors other than their parents. I do worry whether home school students are getting the range of opportunities we hope for for all kids," he said slamming the system.

Anyone who tries to defend public education probably went to a public school Socialist college.

The best expert there is on public ed (John Gatto) more or less claims that many if not most children would be better off being raised in the jungle by chimpanzees like Tarzan than being dumbed down in American public schools.

I have so far resisted the urge to have a bumper sticker made up that says "Your Honor Student Will One Day Work for My Homeschooler."

But it's been a near thing, and I may yet do it.

Same old argument they just will not give up. There is proof that many homeschoolers score above and beyond that of their govt. educated peers.

The sort of “socialization” that home schooled kids get is far superior to that in public schools. In PS the kids have role models who are older children. At home role models tend to be adults. The whole purpose of education is to teach and prepare children to be adults, not to grow up to be children in adult bodies and in their parents’ spare bedroom. I am old enough that I have seen the progressive infantilization of adults. We all know too many 30-43 year old people who have not attained adulthood and there are more every generation.

Parents who send their children to public school are prima facie committing child abuse. No exceptions.

The primary purpose of socialist government schooling is not to educate children.

It is to indoctrinate/socialize children into a humanistic pagan worldview, to depart them from the training of their parents, and to create a population of autonomous State servants whose values are in opposition to those of their families. Whatever label we use to describe the outcome, it is the opposite of Christian.

We are losing the culture war badly because public schools are so effective at what they do. How is it possible that Sodomite unions could become the law of the land less than a generation after many States passed Constitutional amendments banning them? Our institutions are at war with the People. We will lose the Republic because of it.

The Christian churches have, in a meaningful way, abandoned their membership to an overwhelmingly humanistic culture by refusing to promote an exodus from the pagan academies.

Government K-12 socialization is **prison** survival socialization. In many many many ways the K-12 environment resembles **prison**!

Thankfully most overcome the dysfunctional socialization learned in school and go on to learn the healthy social skills needed to live reasonably successful business, home, and community lives. Sadly some don't.

1) Children who attend godless schools **will** learn to think and reason godlessly. They must just to cooperate in the godless classroom.

2) Nearly every teacher in this nation was trained by godless Marxists in Marxist run colleges and universities. This is true for both private and government schools from Pre-K through university graduate school!

This is a serious, serious, serious, and URGENT threat to our freedom....Yet....Conservatives DO NOTHING! ( Except for the few who homeschool.)

When the tsunami of tyranny sweeps this nation, homeschoolers will not be spared.

My brother is a high school teacher who home schools his kids. We’re on the tail end with only one left in high school. Of the other three, one is studying aerospace engineering, another is completing her BS and the third manages the Children’s department at a bookstore. All doing well and have no problems interacting with anyone.

I’d like to be the journalist who asks this clown, “Mr Secretary, how many personal friends do you have that homeschool their children?”

I’m certain he will look like a deer in the headlights. Maybe he’ll lie like his boss and say, “some of my best friends are white Christian homeschoolers.”

That's funny!

Sometimes I get stuck behind a school bus and watch these kids moping off the bus, their backpacks weighing them down. They're just hating what should be the happiest times of their life. I remember when I went through it. But it's probably worse now. They have exponentially more homework now because teachers don't do their jobs. They're not allowed to horse around with their friends. They have cops watching the hallways.

Does anyone remember the homeless nut who screamed about religion in San Francisco about 15-20 years ago? Somebody followed him and found him living in a shack in the park with his 14 year old daughter. The daughter had been there her whole life, never going to school. They just had an old set of World Books and a Bible. They thought she'd be severely damaged.

You guessed it. She tested out way ahead of her age level in all subjects. To their credit, the SF authorities let her go back to her father and eventually they moved on.

No matter what I Google, I can't find that story. If anyone can, please let me know.

Tuff chitski, Mr. King.

If that’s all we’re missing, then we’re still miles ahead of the publik skrewel students.

“...I worry that in a lot of cases students who are homeschooled are not getting the kind of the breadth of instruction experience they would get in school...”

Ok, this tells me the Secretary of Education is thoroughly unqualified for the job. We wouldn’t need “home” schools if real schools provided real education.
