OK, well you asked what I thought to be good-faith questions and I’ve given you good-faith answers from my understanding of common law.
Given those answers, I’m not sure what you dislike unless you think the electrified sign is not dangerous or deadly. That might be possible, but as I said, the law generally frowns on devices rigged to harm. It’s an issue of unlimited justification of bodily harm to protect property which, as I said, has been hammered out in common law over the centuries and I think is generally reasonable and good.

Dangerous? (able or likely to cause harm or injury) To a small degree it is. Many things in life are "dangerous". Do you still pick blackberries despite the danger of the thorns? (rhetorical)

Well, that’s why we have courts, so individual controversies are solved - determining things like whether the particular electrified sign in question is dangerous enough to be considered per se illegal. Might be a close call, but generally I think courts frown on devices rigged to hurt someone especially if there is no warning sign.
Maybe the point is prudence would be on the side of putting up a warning sign. Otherwise it might be argued you wanted to see the guy trespass and attempt to steal so you could hurt him.

Agreeing with it means you prioritize threat to bodily harm over threat to harm to property and does NOT mean you don’t respect property, It means you to place a higher value on life than property. I agree with that. It certainly doesn’t mean you don’t have respect for property which I and the common law certainly have.
The law sees rigged devices as a kind of lying-in-wait for their victims, including the trespasser as the victim. Maybe you think its OK to lie in wait to catch and physically hurt the trespasser, but your ownership of property doesn’t give you unlimited rights against the trespasser and that does NOT mean a disregard for the value of the property. That’s why the picture of justice is one blindfolded with scales. You have to weigh the value of these things in the balances of justice regardless of personal bias.

If you can’t take what I’m saying in good faith the way its given then we should just leave it at that. This is a subject I enjoy talking about but not with someone who isn’t taking the discussion in good faith.
