I expect the purpose is to allow the Middle East/North African identifiers to be moved to the head of all lines, skip vetting, and automatically qualify for zillions in handouts from us, no questions asked. Yes, that was my first thought, too. It’s just so obvious that that is a prime goal of this particular aim at creating racist divisions of the people of the world based on religion and race. Just as Jews are already actively excluded from all those “People of Color” racist conferences that are actually organized and shamelessly carried out in various academic disciplines.
I wonder if the Republicans would accept this (with a separate category for Israeli Jews), if it was accompanied by a restoration of the old immigration quotas act.

Ethnic western and northern Europeans get a good quota.
Some Asians get good quotas, like Japanese and Koreans.
Middle East/North Africans get a quota that is a negative number, in that Obama took in far too many already. Only when they are officially “integrated” is there a possibility of a very limited future quota.

No. I should have noted the article is incorrect, the proposal is to establish a new ethnicity not race. I'm told by the left we're all immigrants, and that's true. In many cases our ancestors. Not sure I agree my ancestors "immigration" status is relevant to me, but if it is I'm offended the government needs to track my ethnicity. For how long? Two generations like a certain central European nation last century, or four generations like the Inquisition. When does anyone become American. This ethnicity stuff is total BS.
