Obama and Eric Holder Launch PAC for ‘Fairer’ Redistricting Maps

President Barack Obama plans to team up after he leaves office with former Attorney General Eric Holder to launch a new political action committee to press for redistricting reform.

According to Politico, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee was “developed in close consultation with the White House” and that Obama himself has identified with the group.

“American voters deserve fair maps that represent our diverse communities—and we need a coordinated strategy to make that happen,” Holder said in a statement. “This unprecedented new effort will ensure Democrats have a seat at the table to create fairer maps after 2020.”

Democratic leadership in statehouses and congress is being decimated by Obama’s policies. The president routinely complains about gerrymandering, saying that is making things unfair for Democrats across the country.

In August 2015, Obama discussed at length his feelings on a system that he suggested was rigged to favor Republicans.

“I think political gerrymandering has resulted in a situation in which — with 80 percent Democratic districts or 80 percent Republican districts and no competition, that that leads to more and more polarization in Congress, and it gets harder and harder to get things done,” he said during an interview with NPR...

oh please, Obama............

Democrats draw gerrymandered redistricting maps when they are in charge.

Yes Republicans gerrymander too.

But for Obama to suggest that Democrats “need a seat” at the table for fairer redistricting in 2020 is an absolute joke....

Are we to believe that Democrats are going to now start drawing fair district lines, instead of maximizing their power????? Really????

Fits in with Obama’s desire to “create” a new race for followers of the prophet.

“Fairer” of course meaning being gerrymandered in favor of democrats. I seriously doubt they are going to worry about the districts in dark blue states like California that already disadvantage Republicans, because those are already “fair” according to the left.

Yes, because notoriously spineless R's have the guts to do things to help them win elections, and can get away with it under the eyes of Obama's fascist, politicized DOJ, even though that group screams bloody murder even when something ISN'T biased. [eyeroll]

This unprecedented new effort will ensure Democrats have a seat at the table to create fairer maps after 2020.”

Translation: "Even though in 2020 Republicans will still hold the vast majority of Governorships and state legislatures, we will fund lawsuits and find some left wing activist judge to throw out their maps and impose our gerrymandered maps by judicial fiat."

Want fair districts?

Easy peasy.

First all districts should be drawn, with respect to State lines of course, so that they have the mathematically shortest length of district boundary line needed to enclose the proper number of people.

Districts would still end up lumpish, but there would no longer be any form of gerrymandering.

The second step is to dramatically decrease the number of folks in any given district by adding more congressional House seats.

Between the two of these, a mixture of one-man-one vote and a rejection of the spurious idea that people are best served by those who look like them, we could easily arrive at a just and equitable solution.

No more court involvement in Redistricting too ... heck, it could probably be done by computer!

If Clinton somehow wins this election, her USSC nominees will be rubber stamped by Congress (no matter which party is in charge) and this gerrymandering scheme will be made law from the bench.

The GOPEs do not appear to realize that this alone will destroy the Republican Party prior to any future election and will result in one-party rule by the totalitarian Left ... just as we have in the formerly great State of California.

Unlimited illegal immigration of Dem voter underclass; zero integrity in voting laws; Communist moslem control of voting districts.

All is well. Nothing to see here.

Here in Illinois, BOTH parties fought against redistricting rules.

Gerrymandering here is an artform, with both parties in cahoots with each other, and they have been for decades.

For years the courts have demanded that district lines be drawn to create as many “minority-majority” districts as possible, safe seats for left-wing black Democrats or Hispanics. The consequence has been that other districts become more winnable for Republicans. It sounds like Obama and Holder are trying to find a way to reduce the number of Republicans in the majority white districts...waiting until all the illegal aliens he has let in are 18 or can acquire fake IDs showing that they are citizens will take too long...they want faster results.
