While the Republicans are rightfully often called “the stupid party,” the Dems may take the cake. The DNC needs to take an honest, open, appraisal of why its message failed in 30 out of 50 states.
The Dems managed to win the popular vote only by running up the score along the Pacific Coast, the Northeast, and urban areas. Their support is deep, but geographically limited. Selecting Ellison, or someone like him would indicate they are doubling down on painting Republicans and independents as “racist, sexist, homophobic, etc...” not on countering Trump with their own message.
