A fashion designer whose styles have been sported by Michelle Obama is boycotting dressing Melania Trump, saying she encourages “my fellow designers to do the same” when it comes to outfitting the next first lady.
"As one who celebrates and strives for diversity, individual freedom and respect for all lifestyles, I will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next First Lady," Sophie Theallet wrote in a letter this week.
“The rhetoric of racism, sexism, and xenophobia unleashed by her husband’s presidential campaign are incompatible with the shared values we live by,” Theallet wrote about President-elect Donald Trump.
“I encourage my fellow designers to do the same,” she continued.

The title is misleading, it sounds as if she was actually asked............
Sounds more like she's begging for attention and work............LOL!
Don’t you remember the Republican convention when Trump’s daughter wore her own creation and it sold out immediately? Seems to me the price tag was relatively inexpensive. I’m sure Melania will have NO problem being “dressed” by anyone she chooses, including her step daughter.

Meh.
In all the time that Obama was president I have never said one word about his daughters or his wife. I think they should be left alone, but do not believe that the silence indicates that they have been doing a good job of dressing the first lady. I did break my silence a couple of times but the laughter was not intentional.
I did a quick Google search on her stuff and (I could be wrong) it looks like her specialty is plus size clothes. I doubt Melania will have much need for her products or talents, such as they are.
The fashion industry likes Michelle because she tries to be trendy. In my opinion, she often makes the mistake of allowing the clothes to wear her, rather than identifying certain styles and fabrics that would actually become her.
What you see when you look at Melania Trump is a beautiful, poised woman with clothes that highlight that fact. She wears beautiful clothes, but she inhabits them. The clothes are not the first thing you notice in her pictures.
What an egotistical, self centered prude. We don’t want our First Lady wearing your outdated garb. She is much too beautiful to bring herself down by wearing your trash. You, madam are on The BOYCOTT List..! I find it hard to believe designers with an actual sense of style and grace would follow your bad example.
I still laugh every time I see that skit.
