Trump "Ripped" Into Christie Before Demoting Him By Phone Call (Wont Allow Lobbyist Infestation)
Zero Hedge ^

Posted on 11/20/2016 8:12:25 AM PST by quesney

In the days following the election, Trump expressed deep frustration about how Christie was handling the transition. In particular, he vented about how the governor had loaded up the team with lobbyists, the very class of people Trump had campaigned against, with his calls to “drain the swamp” in Washington. The president-elect also noticed that Christie had stocked his team with old New Jersey friends and allies.

There were other issues. Once the dust settled from their surprise win, the Trump team noticed that Christie had done little to vet potential administration picks or to dig into potential conflicts of interests. With Democrats eager to pounce on any early mistake, it was an oversight they simply couldn’t afford.

This is a Politico article that Zero Hedge picked up. I would beware ANYTHING from Politico. Could it be FAKE NEWS?

“Christie meeting with Trump today in NJ, no bridges need to be crossed.”

Don’t be surprised if Trump finds a job for Christie.

Mixed feelings about Christie. First and lasting impression is that he is bully. Second is is bad views on some topics, such as 2nd amendment rights. Third is is poor governing reputation. Lastly, he seems corrupt, in bed with lobbyists and others that have funded agendas that are questionable. Bridge gate is not over. Shame he did not come clean on this. Best he is out of Trump admin.

I never felt comfortable with Christie after he gave obama that hug before the 2012 election as I felt that helped swing the election towards the Kenyan.

I agree. There's no doubt that CC helped Barry look 'presidential' in the waning days of the 2012 campaign. Was it a deciding factor in that election? Who knows, but it wasn't cool and it looked opportunistic (i.e., knifing Romney to clear the way for Christie 2016).

Christie had nothing to do with Romney's loss. Do you really think hundreds of thousands of voters in swing states like Florida, Iowa and Ohio didn't show up to vote for Romney because Chris Christie hugged Barack Obama on a beach in New Jersey after a major hurricane? How shallow do you really think Republican voters are?

Romney was an awful candidate. Deal with it. He exposed himself as a jack@ss during this election season, and came crawling on his knees to Trump's golf course in New Jersey to make amends yesterday.

Ed Rollins warned Trump about Governors. They are used to giving orders. GWB named an NJ Governor(Whitman) and she was a disaster.

Let Tubby stew in his own problems.

"Bridgegate" is over -- at least in terms of the political fallout.

What the media stories about that case don't tell you is that the convictions of these Christie aides confirm exactly what Christie said from the beginning. He fired them all as soon as the story came to light, and that was it.

Christie will slowly disappear from public view for other reasons -- notably the fact that he can't run for governor again, and he has no interest in serving in any legislative body like Congress or the U.S. Senate.

That’s an interesting point. Governors typically make good presidential candidates, but maybe their “executive” personalities make them not well suited for cabinet posts.

I think that trump knew who and what Christi was from the beginning when Christie started to support him in the primary. I think he knew if he gave him enough rope he would hang him self and President Trump could get rid of him with out alienating those that support him. it was smart to give him a job that when he failed to do what Trump wanted and started to actively work against the administration he could fire him and be done with what ever influence he would have. you wont see Christie being given any other jobs in the administration.

Outspoken, contrarian, when Christie first made the national scene he was a breath of fresh air.
Now he’s 400 lbs. of excess fat.

Absolutely could be fake news, but keep in mind that Romney also backed away from Christie after considering him for influential spots. I doubt Romney objected to Christie being too close to lobbyists!

I’ve suspected something sinister about Christie’s background and connections, but it might be as simple as Christie having OPD (Obnoxious Personality Disorder).

Mike Huckabee and Newt Gingrich also need to step away from the buffet and mix a salad in there.

You are so on target about that picture of Christie embracing Obummer in New Jersey. That picture is burned into my mind, too. I have to think even with Bridgegate, the biggest boo boo Christie ever made politically was letting that picture survive into print.

Same here, he has the same temperament and disposition as my fat cousin Mario. Probably eats as much.
