It should be someone unknown to the political tabloid culture.

Someone like a popular professor in a related field such as political science or international relations.

Someone who is new fresh blood but highly personable but not from a thinktank background.

Someone that can synthesize vast amounts of information but who is down to earth at the same time.

And for God’s sake, NOT ROMNEY!

No Bolton. He’s a bombastic neocon warmonger. Trump has indicated his desire to avoid foreign misadventures. Bolton wouldn’t be able to follow those instructions.

“NO! to Romney and Petraeus!”

Romney, I wouldn’t trust if I tried to throw a freight train, Petraeus....he got himself tangled up with the obama administration, thinking that they would love and take care of him. Instead, obama true to his actions, used Petraeus until his usefulness was used up, then lowered the hammer on him and ruined his reputation and career. Sorry any one who would trust obama or any of his administration needs extra scrutiny. Just my personal opinion.

Apparently they have been feuding for some time....

According to reports, at one point the Trump campaign was playing around with the idea of vetting former secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as a vice-presidential candidate. That idea didn’t pan out, reportedly because Rice wasn’t interested. But if it had, the 2006 New York Daily News article that resurfaced yesterday would’ve been even more awkward.

According to the Daily News, Trump — who had his differences with the Bush administration — “fired off” on Rice during a keynote speech at the Learning Annex Real Estate and Wealth Expo. “Condoleezza Rice, she’s a lovely woman, but I think she’s a bitch,” Trump reportedly said “to wild applause.” “She goes around to other countries and other nations, negotiates with their leaders, comes back and nothing ever happens.”

It should be noted that partial video of the speech from CNN’s archives gives a much different version of the quote. In that video, Trump says, “I wish she was a bitch. I don’t care if she’s a lovely woman. I want somebody that can go and make deals.”

Rice spoke out against Trump on Facebook earlier this month, calling on him to withdraw from the race. And when CNN reached out to Rice for a response to the report he’d called her a “bitch,” she simply replied, “Can’t wait until November 9!”

Whatever. I won’t be wondering about it anymore. If former Congresswoman Candice Miller (R), MI hadn’t run for Macomb County Public Works Commissioner, I would have suggested her for SoS.

Bolton is a neo-con and, as such, never met a conflict he did not want to escalate. Poor choice especially when Trump wants to scale back our costly overseas commitments. Don’t see this working well with Bolton.

Re: Romney—forget about it. He’s a backstabber and we have way too many of those in Washington.

I think Huck could be good.
Charming. Great communicator. Holds very dear our American traditions. Loyal to Trump.

Giuliani is like a delicious, exotic spice that does not belong in every recipe.
He shouldn’t be POTUS or SoS.
He’d be fantastic in DoJ. Or DHS.

Interesting that Rohrabacher is in there. I haven’t seen his name floated before, but Breitbart didn’t likely pull it out of thin air.

He might be more aligned with Trump’s foreign policy views than Romney or Bolton, but easier to get through Senate confirmation than Rudy.

Bolton is a big neocon and Rudy has had some pretty unsavory clients.

How about Rohrabacher? I like that he is tough on illegal immigration.

Rudy or Bolton works for me...

If we could transplant Bolton's knowledge of foreign policy into Rudy, that would be perfect.

Needs to be Rudy with Bolton as his right hand man. Those two would clean up and clear out Foggy Bottom. It needs it and let’s face it, it’s a two man job

LOL - you're kidding, right? For Secretary of State?

Too bad Howard Zinn isn't still around. He was very popular with college kids. Conservative professors are rarely popular with college kids.

Why wouldn’t Trump at least think about bringing Condoleeza Rice in?

Uh - maybe because she supported Obama? Maybe because, in her book, race 'trumps' all else.
