Tom Ford Refused To Dress Melania Trump When Asked In The Past And Says His Clothes Are 'Too Expensive' For Her To Wear As First Lady (Despite Making A Custom Gown For Michelle Obama)

One of America's most talented and iconic fashion designers has revealed that he has no desire to dress Melania Trump in his clothes - and has already refused to work with her in the past.
Tom Ford stopped by The View on Wednesday to talk about his new film Nocturnal Animals, and also spent some time talking about first lady fashion.
'We've got a new first lady, Melania Trump, and she's quite beautiful, and she's thin, she's gonna look great in [your] clothes, no?' host Joy Behar asked Ford at the top of the interview, clearly hoping to learn if Ford would consider working with the former model or had a strict ban.
A hesitant looking Ford paused for a moment before responding to the question, saying: 'I don't know. I was asked to dress her quite a few years ago and I declined.'
He then explained his reason for passing on the offer by stating: 'Well, she's not necessarily my image.'
Ford, 55, then told Behar and the other hosts that he would also not be dressing Melania while she was in the White House, saying his clothes are 'too expensive' for a first lady to wear because they have to 'relate to everybody.'
His designer wears were not 'too expensive' for the current first lady though, who Ford outfitted in a custom-made ivory evening gown back in 2011 for a dinner with the royal family at Buckingham Palace. Ford even threw in a pair of gloves to round out the look.

While his comments weren’t exactly offensive, it would seem possible for him to toss his profit margins aside for Melania, on occasion. He may think he explained this well enough, but it really makes him look rather like a pinhead.

Let Melania find her own people, and wouldn’t it be cool if some were unknowns to rise to fame and fortune by doing the work these slimeballs think they’re too good to do?
If he made clothes for Big Foot, I would not even wipe my butt on anything he made. She can find someone who will be glad to design clothes for her. As far as I am concerned, Ford and the others can take their clothes and stick them up their asses.

Yes, when this was done to Christian bakers and photographers who did not want to participate in gay weddings they were persecuted. Trump should go on TV and point out this and say he will pardon the Christians and if the Libs do it again they get double penalty.

I dont think liberals have an original thought in their head. They just parrot what they hear their other comrades say. Who cares what Ford thinks? Here in a year when she is being dressed by the finest fashion designers in the world who make her look better than Ford ever could, he'll be coming back to her groveling realizing what a dumba$$ he was and will remember she's the first lady and has great influence in the WH and the power to make his career go bye bye. Ford's just another liberal trying to look revelant by copying every one else. All it did is just make him look like all the other liberal a-holes who lack professionalism and class.
I agree. It's good to see a woman that's beautiful who you know for certain is a woman and doesn't bulge in the wrong places.
