Paul Ryan never expected Trump to win
New York Post ^ | December 2, 2016 | 7:30am | Daniel Halper

“He knows that. Donald Trump’s a very — he was a very unconventional candidate. He’s going to be an unconventional president. What I like about it, in my, like I said, almost daily conversations, is he’s just a get-things-done kinda guy,” Ryan continued.

It was, and still is, the right thing to do.

Are you enjoying your new life?

If so, it was definitely the right thing to do.

God can fix the economy with Trump as his instrument. He does not have to be the beast of revelation.

What do you miss from Seattle? What do you enjoy most in Ky?

He would have been for him if he expected it.

He’s going to be an unconventional president.

************

Ryan and his political ilk are just a bunch of talkers. Trump is a doer. They fear and resent him because he is a man of action instead of words.

We’ve had enough of the empty suits and vacuous talkers. Time for the weenies in the GOPe to roll up the sleeves and get to work — like the rest of the country.

Enjoying it? It’s like heaven. We absolutely love it here.

I definitely believe God can fix the economy. However, when I say things like, “there is no human solution”, my point really is that anyone that could fix it would require such austerity measures that they would be fought tooth and nail by every elected politician who has to answer to his/her constituency. i.e. the problem is the voters. It won’t happen. There will be no “voluntarily” resolution. It will happen when it simply does its meltdown as people like Bill Bonner have discussed.

Our economy is not based on money. It’s based on credit. Very little actual money exists. Rather, it’s mostly credit, which can disappear in the blink of an eye. And when an economy shrinks in such a way, well the “one hour meltdown” scenario is what we’ll most likely see, Trump or no Trump.

I’m speaking of the beasts “amazing” solution to the worlds problems that causes everyone to be amazed. That is what this will take.

That is because Ryan, like so many others, has been inside the beltway bubble too long and has lost touch with the citizenry.

Your reference to Potomac Fever is spot on. It’s a highly contagious political disease that affects nearly politician in DC. You couldn’t be more right about that.

Politicians like Ryan become creatures of the swamp. Winning the next election is their measure of success. They don’t really care about anything else.

Trump, on the other hand, has a clear vision and particular objectives that he wants to achieve. That’s how businessmen succeed. Its all about creating opportunities for making things happen. Its tangible progress, not talk, that matters to them.

Ryan may be bright and energetic, but I’ve worked around lots of people like that who accomplished very little. In his case, given his time on the Hill what big things has he really accomplished?

I’ve worked inside the beltway. Yes, in a very real sense it is a self contained world. You never hear people in DC worrying about what they can do for the little guy out there in the hinterlands. All they care about is growing their power and political prestige, and the trappings that come with it. Its a system of, by and for the technocrats only.

Trump should give Ryno a place in his cabinet. As soon as he resigns from Speaker, tell him he’s fired.

“given his time on the Hill what big things has he (Ryan) really accomplished?”

Hopefully, that will be a motivation to get him working (and taking risk) - real greatness, real accomplishments, that will establish him in history (and might serve as a launch pad for future higher office).

I agree that to date, Ryan has accomplished nothing of note. It is now or never for him.

“....they won’t have to fight Obama anymore”....

Don't count on it so never say “never”. That SOB will cause as much trouble for trump and he and his ilk, supported by the media can get away with. You think odumbos lazy ass, "do nothing" attitude is over, you may, unfortunately, be wrong. He will only be "gone" when he is six feet under.

Color me skeptical about Ryan. Personal industry, integrity, courage are generally not traits that suddenly come out later in life. His track record is one of timidity, not boldness. He has no gravitas and is not a leader, in my opinion.

Forget the campaign and focus on passing Trump’s agenda

Exactly. Put aside past divisions, and get on with the job. We've waited a LONG time for this moment, so don't waste it.

The new Republican party is diverse in its outlook. None of us will get EVERYTHING we want. The driving force in getting us to this historic moment was DJT. The Congress would be smart to go with his vision.

Hopefully, Ryan will fall out of politics altogether.

I expect they will oppose it as their Democrat betters demand. They will at least water down and obfuscate and add loopholes and backdoors that make them personal profit.
