-—Age 86 is well past the usual retirement age-—
Then there’s Clint. At 86 he ‘s hanging in there and has an office on the studio lot from which he produced the movie Scully. Not too shabby for an old guy.
At 74 and semi retired, 86 gives me something to hang my hat on. I see no reason now to cease that which I enjoy even if the hours are much reduced. It gives me joy to see the young guys struggle with the problems that for me are gone. All I must do is the same as I do on FRee Republic...... observe and report

In days gone by, I’d get my new Forbes and immediately read Dr Sowells page, first thing.

One reading of the works of Thomas Sowell, and one look at Sowell's photographic interpretations of what he sees before him are proof enough of the great potential the Creator has placed within each of His creations!
Bravo, Dr. Sowell! Enjoy this thing we call "retirement." Your work, however, will continue to inspire new generations.

I’m sure you’re correct about his commentary once in a while and like you mentioned this is the termination of his syndicated column.
You’re most welcome, FRiend. I’ll retain his ping list and should he comment I’ll post and ping it.

Yes times will change, but glances back at what Dr. Sowell has written to date will prove prescient, much of it timeless and worthy of review.
Thanks, Dr. Sowell.

Thomas Sowell is/has been a great voice in the wilderness, helping keep the faith in our Constitutional Republic and most of its people.

DON'T DO IT!!! Don't cut us off cold turkey, Dr. Sowell! We need a sanity fix regularly, but I promise I'll cut down to only one or two a week if you just keep writing something. Anything!
I'll read your grocery list ...

None of us always agree with everyone and the 2016 elections certainly caused the herd to migrate. That said, we should always seek out people who make us challenge our own thoughts. Thomas Sowell was a jewel in that regard.

his photography is fantastic.
It’s like America the Beautiful captured on film.

I’ve been reading Dr. Sowell’s columns for more than 30 years. What a run he’s had. His books will be valuable for generations to come.

A towering intellect, his commentary on current issues will be missed. I’ll still go back to see what he said, just like I sometimes do with WFB.
