On a side note....

The voters last November legalized recreational use of Pot here in Calif. Problem is, for pot users, is that they still need a medical card to buy from the pot co-ops. As I understand it, California is dragging their feet and stating there won't be pot sold to recreational users for a full year, starting on Jan. 1st 2018, until they get around to issuing sales licenses to recreational use stores.

What I don't understand is if they wanted it legalized, sold and taxed so bad what's the holdup? Typical govt worthlessness from some of the most worthless, self serving democrat politicians in the world. I guess they need a year to collect all the bribes.

That’s one thing I was good at in my career, both in government and private industry, was getting big shots on the phone. Maybe because I started out as a buck private dealing with flag officers and never learned to be afraid of them.

Watch the money flow towards Ms. Warren....

No, keep the pot-heads and dealers on a cash-only, face-to-face market.

IIRC the possession of even minute quantities of dope is a Federal crime and has been for years.

I can’t remember when marijuana was legalized in Washington state, but it was June 2016 when medical card users were pushed from the medical shops to the recreational shops. Don’t know exactly how that works but would assume those with a medical card would not pay tax as the recreational users do.

Think that took about two years.

Bad habits are a part of human nature. Some can partake in moderation with little or no harm. For others, lives are ruined.

As a society, we already have several bad habits: cigarettes, alcohol, and gambling, to name a few.

Sometimes the measures that government takes to stamp out bad habits are worse than living with the consequences of those habits. Reasonable people can differ on where the line should be drawn, but at least let’s be consistent.

It baffles me that the exact same group of people (liberals) who are intent on taking the most extreme measures to stamp out the unfashionable bad habit of cigarettes, are equally intent on promoting a trendy and chic bad habit of marijauna.

What about the peyote shops. Why hasn’t she helped them out of “banking limbo”? Doesn’t she care about her people?

....but it was June 2016 when medical card users were pushed from the medical shops to the recreational shops.

It was voted legal for recreational use in 2012. So they took four long years to allow people to legally buy without a med card? Even in liberal Washington state?

Like I already stated, it seems they want to make a racket out of selling the sales licenses and that doesn't surprise me one bit.

Absolutely zero reason a legal business should not be able to access banking services.

I would like to ask Princess Shoveling Bull if that includes *legal* gun shops and firearms related suppliers. Think Operation Choke Point. I don't recall her complaining about that.

Medical cards have to be renewed every year for med users which in itself costs $60 - $125 if I remember correctly. So that in itself is a tax to the final users.

Marijuana is a controlled substance under federal law.

Yes. But where in the Constitution is the federal government given the authority to do that?

That is baffling - as is the reverse inconsistency among some conservatives.

Where did they get the authority to inter American citizens in 1942? To spy on people without a warrant?

What is this "Constitution" of which you speak? Conservatism means simply opposing liberals.

People could legally buy in 2012 but the medical card holders had a better deal at the medical shops.

Then this June the medical card holders were pushed into the recreational shops.
